Listening to the three musketeers give an opinion on the OAKS, they shared a conversation one had with Simon Allard who is co-favorite that while racing at Pocono in recent starts against older -- they weren't racing hard
In three starts, finished 2nd,2nd and 3rd at short odds, getting beat in :54
As a judge, is it their responsibilities to protect the public ngc3 when a driver says they aren't trying ?
She wins the Oaks in 50.2

thorobred people constantly speak in terms of "prepping" for a bigger race down the road. why is that different ?

its not
So should the judges or racing commission get involved. Granted it occurred in PA

Are you saying they use pari-mutual races as training miles??? Shocking.
-
D Barn no problem.

we all know that answer, but to have a driver say to a commentator who then says it on a live simulcast..... 73cv.2
-
drivers and trainers should keep quiet about it. they are trying to win the big race so its understandable.

I love it when a plan works

Sears cant run down longshot mcclure in million dollar hambo
I had a 5 claimer fave tonight who couldnt run down a wire to wire longshot.
Same kinda result. Same kinda payoff.
SO WHATS THE DIFFERENCE...IN HARNESS RACING, IS THERE A DIFF.? a million dollar race and a 6000 dollar race.
One race, horses owned by guys who own corporations..the other race, guys who barely can rub two nickels together.
So whats the difference..is there a difference? its one of the 'dirty' allures of harness racing.
Are you racing to win every time? Of course not. In harness racing, often youre racing for next week's 'score'.
What do you tell your owners when you lose the hambo by a head? Is it the the same thing you tell the halfass owner when you lose as favorite by a head in a 5 claimer?
in both cases, words uttered can include: 'can i still drive your other ones?'
good luck next time brian. or something.
