or at least give everyone a check. It costs real money for gas and tolls to ship to a track for a qualifier, so there should be a reimbursement of some type.

Maybe the track should charge owners for qualifying races.

The only way I could see charging for Q is if the money went to testing.... ( which is worthless anyway )
I remember a Saturday morning back in my days at Scioto, they announced an hour before Q's that the state was there to test..... It look like a drag strip of shippers moving out and horses in the first race that were already in paddock rolling out and down the hill,,,, scratched (cough cough ) due to illness.... I was going to drive one that morning that didn't make it.... ngc3

Qualifiers shouldn't be required. It is an unnecessary expense to owners. Bettors are smart enough to realize that if a horse makes repeated breaks he's a risk to bet. What does a slow mile prove? He can go slow without making a break while loaded up with a painkiller? Waste of time for anyone involved.

I have too agree. If there were no Q races, the risk to the gambler is not raised.
-
I get what some say NO Qualifiers
but
Then there should be ZERO standards for racing...… Multiple breaks.... Very slow times...…
Horse stops in a middle of race and backs thru the field pacing a mile 2:06. Normally that would get you on
the list to qualify..... Should those horses not have to meet a standard since there are no qualifiers ?

I can't see pay-outs for Q. However, in an era of participation trophies ... I do believe that horses out of the top 5 oughta get 1% as a participation gift.

please stop

should have to pay a fee to race in them and drug test the winner
