If a harness track ran on X-Mas day... would you bet?
I think I would not....

SHOULD HAVE AXED THIS INDUSTRY IF THEY WOULD RACE DURING HANUKAH

No. But I will bet a basketball or nfl game this year on the 25th. Not going to the casino to put them in though - won't catch me there again till NCAA tournament presuming virus rate less by then.
Also, I always bet races on April 1st no matter what track I'm wagering - even cal expo. Not sure why just compelled to empty my wallet that day.
It seems preordained for me to play that day. Never ever cashed a ticket on April 1st though. ngc3 ngc3

Christmas Day should be dark; BUT >>>
harness racing is missing a chance on Thanksgiving and esp. New Years Day. if you ever go to the casinos on those 2 holidays - the machines are full up. Thanksgiving, as our culture has changed, is a day of loneliness for people w/ family out of town, divorced, estranged and all -- and, New Years, for the more mature folk that no longer go out and party strong on NYE .. Both of these days could attract interest.
Now, the trick is only scheduling 5 races or so at each track - and, alternate among those tracks by post times - and, c'mon w/ enticing purses and competitive, interesting conditions.
