Looks like the “1” broke down head of stretch, fell, and took two others with him. Three drivers reported to be taken to hospital. Race declared No Contest, bridgejumper avoided a losing show bet.
Let’s hope the drivers are OK.

bridge jumper got seriously bailed out
-
The horse was in obvious distress yet crawford kept driving and pushing. This should have never happened
-
I HEARD THE PURSE WILL BE PAID OUT.
HOWS THAT A NO CONTEST?

Hey all. Updating the best I can about today’s awful spill in race 12 at Saratoga. I’m told Brett Crawford is very sore but overall ok. Sadly,Brett Beckwith has a broken wrist and mild concussion. Alek Chartrand is just coming out of X-rays hurting all over. Ugly, scary and sad
On another sad note, #6 Never Not Dancing did not survive the accident RIP
-
I just read on twitter that it is a suspected broken neck
-
Those guys race for no money. Too risky.

Hey Racing Troll your a fuc*ing ASSHOLE
-
No one seems to give a fuck about the lame horse that broke down.
Stalls already occupied

Hey Troll, you should never wish bad on anyone. It always comes back to bite you. You are a true ass!
-
best wishes to all involved and always hate to see a mishap - but if i had win money on the 5 horse...or show money on the 345 given that there was a bridgejumper betting show on the 2...i'd be very pissed they called this a no contest....breake rs and related interference are part of many races...the no contest call in this case is flat out wrong and a terrible call....
-
not trying to downplay the severity of the accident
i do agree however that calling it a no contest was a bad call
to me a no contest should be immediately declared when there are loose horses or horses and drivers are in danger
in this case as unfortunate as the accident was ,it was behind the horses that finished top 3 and they only had about a 1/8 of a mile to go and were of no danger to the horses or drivers involved in the accident
i understand it looked and and it was bad but now where do you draw the line on what is a no contest
again just commenting from strictly a wagering perspective which at the end of the day is what the sport is based on

You hate to kick a guy after an accident, but that crash in Race 12 Monday at Saratoga was a case of Mr. Crawford simply not recognizing his horse was in distress/lame from the get go. I'll tell you this, I've never seen a gamer horse. He kept going despite the pain. Crawford's father, back in the day, would have pulled this horse up. It's sad where this game has gone. I've lost a lot of respect for Brett Crawford.

Still carving on the horse as it’s falling
