You need to relax. Nobody has said anything bad about Dave. Life does go on and a replacement will be necessary. I don't see anything wrong with speculating about who might take over his seat.

I hope it's not Dave Little going to make the morning lines again. Remember like 3 years back or so he could understand why horses he had at 10-1 15-1 were going off at 4-5 and winning--morning line chalk going off 10-1 20-1 backing up and breaking down.....
-
ME AND THE DNRS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT IT WILL COST HIM MORE THAN $5 BUCKS
-
As long as irreplaceable Dave's 'alleged replacement' is lesbian or trans, afro-american, physically-challenged, happily had student debt reduced, would blow Joebama and hates cops then Gural's HR Dept gonna pleased and thats all that matters these days.

Dave was a good guy and a dear friend … he’ll be missed

those qualifications seem about right
also applies to any upper management jobs at fortune 500 companies
dave will be missed, anyone that is that passionate about harness racing is tough to replace, need more like him

No shot. Very very busy trainer. That would take away time needed to post pictures on facebook.

I think the Big M will hire Gabe Prewitt full time and he will back up Ken and eventually take over
-
the leading candidate to replace brower is the guy that used to work the chicago tracks that shut down...the guy that resembles frank drucker....cant remember his name tho....this guy currently works behind the scenes at the big m and gural likes the guy...

Prewitt is the leading candidate. The only problem is that it's a per diem job, 2 days a week with no benefits. With Pompano gone, he's definitely looking for another job.
-
It will be hard to get someone with Dave's talent. Making the morning line is not easy at the Meadowlands. In my opinion Brower was the best tv host in the business. That's why he had all the top gigs.
Greg Blanchard is someone who has impressed me.

hes not retiring any time soon
hes very young

sure, thats what zeron wants a part time job with lousy pay and no benefits
GOOD ONE!!!!

Cant pay Gabe enough for him to do it, unless he becomes the full time announcer, which I doubt will happen. Maybe Gary Seibel?

It will likely be Gabe, as he has worked with everyone there before.

Big FUCKEN deal. That guy is closed for years. Worst than his old man. Maybe a better announcer. Can’t compete with the top guys.

I think the legend from the south should get a chance...Would greatly create more interest... tmbz1

Jessica Otten, 25, has been promoted from Meadowlands’ marketing coordinator/on air personality to TV host and Fox Sports show host.
“There’s nothing more that I like to do than promote from within,” said Big M chief operating officer/general manager Jason Settlemoir. “To listen to Dave Brower and what he had to say about her – and Dave Little as well – and the other people around her, I think that this is a natural next step for Jessica. We're hoping to appeal to a younger audience and adding Jessica will surely help with that. Another plus is that we don't have to add any more staff or per diem pay so we're actually saving some money."
From Meadowlands Media Relations
-
It's amazing how he always brings up cutting expenses. Who will be taking her previous job? Oh, never mind. She'll probably do both for the same money.
Curious about what he takes in salary and perks from the track(s) Gural owns. Whatever it is it's too much.
What does he actually do?
-
That's all well and good but who is going to make the morning lines odds up.
I hope it's not pork chop we seen what happened when he did it was a disaster.
-
Dave Little will get that job!! Announcement coming soon
-
Sad how the on air talent at the M has gone down hill. Won't call it Big anymore.

Excuse me Jupiter but Dave Little is BIG. Very very BIG. ngc3 ngc3
-
This unfair to Jessica. She seems like a nice woman. On tv she's always looking down. Her interviews sound robotic.
Note to the Meadowlands...The re is no younger audience!!!

Edison Hatter, 23, a harness racing jack-of-all-trades who has been working at The Big M as the handicapper on TVG telecasts as well as doing occasional winner's circle and back paddock interviews, will now add the morning-line and program comments to his already full to-do list.
"Edison Hatter is one of the brightest young minds in all of harness racing," said Big M Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. "His tremendous passion for the game, his willingness to work part time for no additional salary - not to mention all of the things he has accomplished already at a remarkably young age - I believe make him the perfect choice to take on such a big responsibility."
In addition to his four-pronged Meadowlands gig, Hatter intends to continue to serve as the track announcer at Freehold Raceway and will keep his position as an aerospace engineer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as well.
"Sadly the racing jobs are only per diem with no benefits so I have to keep the NASA job," said Hatter. "Hopefully one day I"ll be able to make racing my full time passion."
-
Looks a politically correct choice
Not the best candidate
Gabe pruitt better choice more knowledge of the game
Jmho
Good luck to this inexperienced choice
With the price of salary so low
Many didn’t not apply
‘C’CHOICE

This the second time Settlemoir mentioned willingness to work for free as a valued component in his decision who to hire.
I completely understand keeping the expense low when delivering a product. But, here is one position that needs the best you can find to the position of being the front man for your TV and simulcast broadcasts. Giving this position to a young person does not make your product automatically attractive to a new audience of young people.
So when Settilemoir is saving those big bucks in stiffing this kid, he is doing a disservice to the M1 product and it's current client base.

Yea should have given the job to a jew

How will any young people even know that a young lady is on air ?
Young people don't like harness racing so if the on air talent isn't doing a pole dance or taking off her top then nobody new will be tuning in.
For over 40 years I have heard that every race is fixed and it's a crooked sport. That stereotypical view will never change and with the indictments hitting the news that view will only get stronger. There isn't any new fan base. The popular professional sports are also losing fans and having a difficult time attracting new ones.
-
why is Gural so cheap, is it that hard to pay a few employees, geez I was on his side the past decade but he is raking in all this money on the sports betting but cannot even pay benefits, what the fuck is wrong with him, its embarrassing for the sport if the Meadowlands is supposed to be considered the mecca
-
Yea should have given the job to a jew
They won't work for nothing.
-
You have to wonder if Dave had insurance coverage he could have his health issues addressed. One would think Gural might learn his lesson, but instead hires the cheapest, not the best.

What lesson ?
Jason Settlemoir made it very clear multiple times that they will only hire people that will work for free or as close to free as possible. You should kiss ass because they allow you to work there. Eddie Munster got his job there years ago getting coffee for everybody. ngc3 ngc3
-
Does anyone know the history of how Gural hired Settlemoir? He's VP of all the tracks, and his voice . All 3 tracks are failing miserably in the quality of racing and live attendance A famous coach quoted "you are what your record says you are". What's Settlemoir's record???
-
I've given it some thought. There is no one who could replace Dave.
The Meadowlands going cheap is on Gural & not Settlemoir.
-

You are correct BUT Settlemoir has said this multiple times and I see it as very insulting to the new people that are filling the vacant positions.
-
They are taking this opportunity to broadcast their expenses. It's a deliberate strategy being used to lobby for continued/more state relief money. Sickening
-
What about Hollywood? He has more knowledge than Dave Little, Mr Hatter, Jenn and Jessica combined
-
He was let go a while ago. Obviously a cost-cutting measure.
