Who was the best at writing condition races, cause now it seems better just to write claimers
-
Seems many conditions are written to fill races: NW of 6,000 L5 or 13 PM life or $15,000 claimer.
You have anything from a cheap conditioned horse who got lucky in his last 2 starts, a top tiered condition horse and a claimer.
No wonder they have a pay off at the windows of, $2.10 and a $3.20 exacta. Or, 1-9 off the board.
Great way to sell and attract gamblers.

Rick at pocono is the worst,,,,,,same condition sheet since day one,,,,,only thing that changes is the dates,,,plus the guy thinks he is a god,,,takes down to veryone especially the females,,,
-
Tom Leasure the very worst, loud mouth, miserable human being. Works cheap
-
Beg to differ On Kane. His claiming series is awesome. Sets records on the number of claims in a day. What about Yonkers? Huge purses with no creativity at all in the condition sheet. No series. ZIPPO

The best is>>>>Paul Verette at Plainridge and Bangor. The guys helps everyone make money and get their horses raced often. He uses all conditions, claimers and also including Track Master to fill a competitive race card.
If you cant make money racing under Paul V. it's time to get out of the business.

Are race secretaries allowed to own horses?
I would ask Don Hoover........he has some experience in this area.
Another question , are Race Secretaries allowed to bet on races they have "classified" ?
Again , Don Hoover is the expert in this area.

Both seem like huge conflicts of interest. I'm sure both happen all the time of the record of course.

Not supposed to, but at this point it feels like an open secret that some of them do at their own tracks. Go to Northfield and ask who the trainer is and you’ll only get one response. Is it true? No idea. Does he play favorites and try to fuck people he doesn’t like? Absolutely.

Don Hoover the drunk bustout from Vernon. Couldnt make it as a horsemen so he tried to be in management. Fired from
Vernon, Fired from Northfield, fired from Saratoga. Gambled at all of them. Back to being a horsemen, drugs, booze, women.
milkshakes and makes the 'big list'. Busted out again. So Batavia Hires the guy to be their savior when they had a guy in
Todd who actually cared and wasnt a bustout alcoholic, womanizing pig. I wonder what Frank Multari thinks?
