Is he Amish?

I've raced with him at Scioto and Lebanon. He's a good dude. I hope he does well.

Some respectable numbers, I would say. Long before slot swollen purses the dude drove the winners of over a million clams in, Ohio. That was Lebanon, Ohio. Scioto and Northfield , as well. The driving clan then was, Walter Case, Brett Miller, Randy Tharps, David Hawk, Jim Pantaleano. All guys who could hold their own anywhere.

He had 2 years where he took home $50k. That's not exactly being able to drive with anyone.

Was in at qualifiers last night at Scioto
-
Didn't he have a seizure in the winner's circle at Northfield Park 20+ years ago? Was it substance abuse related? It was during the Case jr era at nfld if I recall.

Well Pennies, if you dont like the question, I am sorry but you know damned well if people arent asking it, they sure are thinking it.
Despite Northfield's teflon-esque ability to sweep questions under very dirty rugs, even you have to admit they came within less then three minutes of a tragedy which probably leaves Ward dead and who knows how many other people or horses injured or worse.
Imagine the Bob Roberts follow-up then when an autopsy could reveal alleged drug use.
I happen to believe if licensees or officials knew Wards condition, be it illness or otherwise, they had a responsibility to bring it forward. Like it or not, Ward drove twice before his collapse and asking the connections of those horses what they saw is a legitimate question.
I also have no doubt certain others went around giving at what the least is alleged speculation on the cause of Wards alleged illness.
You say David Ward looked fine when he took the reigns of your horse ... at roughly 7:47pm.
David Ward said his seizures were from a fever.
Based on what you say and also what Ward wants us to believe, David Ward went from "FINE" and "joking" to a fever coming on and spiking so badly it cause seizures and brought him to near death within TWELVE MINUTES!
Not only that but this sudden illness, we are supposed to believe subsides so fast that he took it upon himself to leave the hospital and be home in less then three hours.
Come on Pennies, you may not have seen anything but this whole situation is suspicious.
One little follicle test answers all the questions. Northfield should demand it.

There is no doubt of Ward's substance abuse. The who game was the Wild Wild West during this period. Northfield was well aware of this situation as well as all the horse drugging and race fixing by the drivers. This was the Bob Belcher era. Ward, returned to the winners circle and fell out of the bike, high as a kite.
My post was nothing more than acknowledging a man who once was having success returning after 19 years. David Ward must be close to 60 years old. I don't see him reviving his career as a driver. But, good luck and stay safe.

Why does he have QF by his name in program?

That stands for a qualifying and fair license he cannot drive at a pari mutuel track.
