"Fast Food" racing ya know any ol' piece of shit race in harness or t-breds, anywheres.
This suggestion is not intended to deter what you want to do this week, where and what to bet, type bets, horses and situations you follow.
My suggestion is in lieu of or in addition to that, we try the following here:
1- We choose Small fields as short as 4 and no larger than 6 horses.
2- Only seek out tri and sup cold bets or very small combo no more than 2.
3- Tri's & Sup's from min of: Tri .20, .50, 1.00 and Sups .10, .20, .50, $1.
4- Contribute as many small field races from any harness and t-bred track.
5- Try not do this live but suggest races ahead of time, and if live because of scratches as much time to study the race and formalize a betting decision.
Why? = don't you say like a $4.80 sup payout on a min. $0.10 investment, or $24 tri payout on a min. $0.50 investment. Betting cold in those scenarios it's 48-1 odds. What you bet as a min. on your cold or small combo is your comfort. Sharpening our handicapping by trying to eliminate a horse or two in an already short field that still allows tris and possibly sups too, focusing on precision and tightening up as well, and not risking a whole hell of a lot of money, and the same amount of time! ;D

If I bet a COLD 10 cent straight superfecta 1234 or .50 trifecta 123 and it comes in and pays $4.80 for the super and $24 for the tri that is 48-1 odds paid on the initial investment.

Handicap small fields, try to eliminate one to two horses, then bet ice cold (straight) tri's and supers or small combos ( 2 combinations). Not easy being precise but can you imagine risking $10 on a small super combo - example $5 super part wheel 1/2/34/34 it comes in for $.10 cent payout and pays $12. $12 x .10= 120x$5= $600

That's what this strategy tries to avoid, full fields.
Small field, elimination of horses and ice cold or small combo tris and supers!

Been doing this for the last few years ... best spots for ice cold, especially tri's is usually the first month or two of 2 yr old racing where there are huge differences in ability.
Lots of spots in some steaks races too.

I follow horses, add, delete, so that will be something separate, along with maiden special weight, stake races, which this strategy is applicable in the latter, 10 horse stake field ex. try to eliminate 4 or so horses.
Explaining math to the choir (here), muchless the detailing step by step in the prevailing rules, I lost some, it requires READING LOL a NO NO, but again glad you get it and implement it - it's mathematical, logical and seeks value! Cold exactas too - small fields, handicapped, horses in the 1/2 spots at long odds! ;D

Outcome, my 5 choice did win, my 3/4 choice ran 2nd, and my 2nd choice ran 3rd, the 1 my 3/4 choice ran 5th. Payouts for 5-6-2-4:

My budget for the week: $10-$4 (today's loss)= $6 Balance

Great exercise in improving my handicapping, being burned out and tired, now revitalized, with the Thistle down race, that makes it 4 on top winners out of 8 races chosen. When you're seeking to bet cold your mind switches to be more precise, small fields of course help!

Thanks for the heads up, I charted today before your post, but good to know it is small field target rich environment going forward. So many races once chosen you can just toss out those that you don't like! tmbz1

Races played minimum tri and sup wager 14, currently 0 / 14.
Of the 14 races I had the winner of 7 races with that horse on top and cold!
To recap why I'm doing it beyond strategy, I burnt out handicapping (40 years race analysis) could barely buy a winner in a month. Now I'm getting back on track, to try for accuracy and precision using smaller fields and hopeful value. I only lost $16.10 on the 14 races playing only tris and sups (minimum bets), and again picked 7 winners on top of my tickets.
