Napolitano blew it at 1/2 odds at the start.

That's why they call Northfield the flying turns. When your horse is being pushed to the lead that first turn comes up fast and hard. Those turns are steep compared to other tracks. Not uncommon for horses to break there unfortunately including mine in a Sires Stakes.

Congrats to her

I watched Lauren bathing her horse, she could hardly reach his head! I watched her jump in the bike and she could hardly reach the stirrups! I watched her drive the horse! She SHURE DIDN'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE REACHING THE FINISH LINE! CONGRATS!

Just like the 'infamous' professional wrestler--the honky tonk man---better lucky than good. The post draw helped her be in the right place at the right time. 2 breakers in the first 1/16th of a mile and being covered up the first 1/2 mile by Delong who drew inside of her (a bad drive by DeLong). She was in the right place at the right time and got rewarded for it.
FYI, Lauren was in a n/w 20k/l5 at the meadowlands a few weeks ago and almost went through Gringas at the 1/8 pole which could have wiped out the field.
