The Meadowlands enjoyed the highest handle on its biggest night of the season since 2006, as the Pace card saw a total of $5,672,535 wagered on the evening’s 14 races. Remarkably, Saturday’s handle was the second largest of any track that raced the entire day, exceeded by only Saratoga Thoroughbreds.
"We were certainly helped by the bad weather up in Canada," said Meadowlands’ Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. "Mohawk lost 9 races on a Saturday night which added at least $1 million dollars to our handle, which was very bad luck for them and very good luck for us."
The $5.6 million wagered represents a 20 percent increase over a year ago, when all source handle totaled $4,733,390, a night when Woodbine Mohawk Park raced a 12 race card that handled more than $2.5 million dollars.

Settlemoir may be an ahole but FYI the poster is a pathological liar when it comes to these quotes
