No. That factor should be calculated in the track condition and bias.

Harness programs should DEFINITELY:

1) like DRF, program lines should add in last starts 'equipment changes'. (a 'bl' or 'ksb' or maybe '+38" ', etc. But is there anymore room?
2) theyre pretty good with this, but better driver first name i.d. in past performance line might help.
ie.
*k cummings and k cummings -im sure those interchangeable first initials have fooled folks..just saying,
'ke cummings' on one might help. And if theyre doing this, t.y.
OR
*rising Ontario driver Samuel Filion (S or SamFilion) and legend Sylvain Filion (S, Sy or Syl ) - isnt often, but you def ask 'did he drive this horse last week in that grassroots event?
* tr tetrick, t tetrick, tetrick
*just a few others

Small stuff but key stuff.

How about passing lanes.

The program should note who is using gas and how high the octane level is.

Small stuff but key stuff.

They spell their surnames different from one another.

Filion vs Fillion

Down Syndrome and other disabilities should be listed.

I've seen a few in person that seemed to exhibit this quality (or some other abnormality).

For over two decades it hasn't been necessary to go the track so that type of information would be invaluable.

Quarter horse programs, at least in the old days at Los Alamitos, charted headwinds, tailwinds, and I think maybe crosswinds.

This is an important factor. Let you know if the driver has his head in the game or his mind on other things.

I'd love to see drivers batting average for all drivers that are in race lines if different from driver that night ....

Not as much since the closing of Thunder Ridge.

The program should note who is using gas and how high the octane level is.

and is the reverse is true---who isn't using it so the bettor knows how to wager accordingly to maximize profit!

At this point you may as well start leveling the weight of each driver to a fixed amount. add weight or remove weight like Jocks do. The stats can go a 100 directions. I say keep it simple.

Those free programs that Hoosier, Pocono, Philly and probably some others don’t even have barn changes. That’s the most important info and it’s not in it.

should race programs be...........

FREE   ! ! ! !   YES

At least more and more tracks are offering them for free.

Think of this concept - A track wants your gambling dollar -- more than a casino or sports betting.
They will take out around 15-20%
Be careful, if an outside post they may not be trying for a win -- rather a check
We want to charge a few bucks for you to get the information to give you a chance...

well sign me up  !! !  let's go to the track.

They are very greedy and it costs them big in the long run. Every horse racing betting site charges a fee when you make a deposit. None of the sports betting sites do this. If a small player only has $20 to bet he doesn’t want to be out 25% before he makes a play.
