Did they put up.the wrong horse?
The photo clearly shows the 6 NOT winning race 10
-
Can we see it? This happened once at YR mid 90s. They inverted the 2 and 3 for second and third and put the numbers up, hit official and paid the wagers. the connections involved proved the mistake as far as purse went, so each got the correct money. Marohn drove one, can't remember the other.

Watching live i wouldnt have called it but thought to myself probably amigo volo. Im usually pretty good at wire calls but roezma has nailed these so i didnt question posting. Id be surprised if track missed this but lived through one of the biggest racing debacles of the 1980s when saratoga flat (ny st) track stewards put up the wrong horse-allumeuse. So nothing shocks anymore.

You have to enlarge the photo to see the 6 Does have his nose on the line while the 5 is clearly touching the line! I'm using my phone right now so it was easily expanded!
-
I enhanced this photo and looked at the individual pixels comprising it.
The furthest tip of the 6s nose is 2 pixels ahead of the 5, and is indeed touching the yellow finish line. The 5s nose is not touching the finish line.
Correct decision by the stewards.
-
Outside horse (6) wins.
The confusing part is the background color, as the nose of the 6 is harder to see, but it is actually touching the line, whereas the 5 clearly not yet touching.
As close to a dead heat as possible.
-
It might be time for that cataract surgery!
I saw a degenerate gambler at the track that had 2 pairs of dollar store readers on at the same time! He used breadties to hold them together! Seems like he just wanted to save the dollar for the track rather than get a stronger pair! ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

The 6 has his nose on the line, won it by a whisker
The 5 wasn't to the line yet, very close to a DH
6 wins

Strangely, the you tube version cuts out slo mo version of this race..a time thing i guess.
i saw hpi slo mo and NOT CONVINCED Pemberton got there. disregard any 'confident' sounding announcer, enjoying a 10-1 nipping chalk. They might have reason to project a definitive
reuslt. perhaps exciting the 'chalk-weary'crowd..perhaps.
And ANY 'yellow finish line tech' used to show you the photo finish noses..dont necessarily buy it. imho, that line can be 'tech slid' to the spot that result 'requires'. How we all miss the days of tracks with a real taut line across track to determine result.

That "real taut line" you refer to and miss was/is/always has been for show.

Forget the photo finish, I want to know why Roy never moved a muscle.
