Nice horse but not a great horse. Take him to Sire Stakes. He doesn't have the tools to win the big ones.
-
You try making up ground in a 53.2 last half off weak cover. I doubt if he's eligible to NYSS, he's never been off of a big track in his life. He'll be fine.
-
If he doesn't get another mopey drive he will be fine
-
Driver is also a TOOL to win. James o Mac is not a stake driver. With him and the fact the horse can't leave he won't be a player.
-
Horse has to start leaving a little
Can’t give up thst much ground alwsys

The horse CAN'T leave and Cassie hasn't trained him to leave. He will always be a victim of pace and if they walk the dog to half or 3/4 he has no shot against good horses.

Even his brother says he drives too conservative at times

That may be but I haven't seen to many Huntsville big lopey gaited rats that can leave the gate with the steam it takes in big one. Now, if James tries to smoke with wings everyone will look over and hang him for life because he gets no respect. The horse has no respect and is easily beaten against the top dogs.

Some of them can't leave. If the horse only has one good move in him, doesn't matter how you train him, that's how it is. He will pick up checks if he can rocket home. But the real good ones have more than one move in them. Maybe be doesn't.

Big money wasn’t on the line , he was fine, came a big back half to garner the deuce, will be driven more aggressively in the elims & final.

I agree 100% with that. He showed the weakness last yr not being able to get into good spot. coming a big back half only means you walked the first half and didn't get yourself into position. It's just a way to make the owners feel good "he came back half in 53- so he's a gorilla! LOL problem is he went his first half in 57- Don't mean jack squat when the race goes 49.3 and your no where close at the half.
-
most real races for big money will not be going to the half that slow so I dont see what the issue is.
-
i found it humorous in the interview later that Beaton said he was thrilled with the effort
he was a given a no win drive at 1-9 and the trainer was thrilled

He’s not a gambler and cry babies like u pigeons
Who bet 1/9 shots ngc3 ngc3

For the record he left in the Breeders Crown Final at Hoosier from Post 9 and was the leader at the quarter in 26 flat.
He ended up in the pocket and had no pace late so maybe he is a one move horse but he's only had 3 starts this year. Hard to know how much he has at his bottom now.

Listen pigeon, who said anything about betting?
the point is, the purse was $82k Canadian-his driver gave him a no win effort and the trainer was more than satisfied with it

If I was the trainer I would have been happy with his effort. He left the gate improved his position a couple horses and had the bad luck to follow a horse who gave no real effort first over. Next week is the elimination for the Cup, do you think Beaton wanted to gut his horse by trying too hard in a small money non important race. He doesn't care if the horse was one to nine and neither did JMac.
