We are, looking forward to seeing Aaron win his first BOLE and enjoying the buffet. I wished they gave 🐎 people the discount like Tiaog .

I like Merriman but I think he's in a no-win spot. If he lets some go, he's buried, and
I don't think you can wire that field. Time will tell. Should be a wing dinger. Much
better than that Flamboro race or the Camluck race at London. Have fun boys!  tmbz1

Little Rocket Man wins the battle. They fanned four wide on the turn & across the track in the stretch. It was an exciting last quarter mile.
Bythemissal got lead & struggled on the turns. He was bearing out into the one & a half path. All done on the final turn too. Heavy urging & no response.

If this is the FFA Grand Circuit this year we better hope another division is more exciting.  $200k purse for those fractions?  Pretty pathetic!  Exciting finish, bad race overall.  Hopefully some contenders come from somewhere else in this division!  Too early to tell, and I hope the horse is ok…but looks like Luther should have rethought that purchase from HT and partners.

What happened?
Did it rain earlier in the day?
Fast track!
A $200000 stakes race that looks like a ''glorified open' based on the chart and the time of the race!
Aaron with the rail lets 2 horses go and comes first over and faded into oblivion.  5% of ZERO is ZERO!  What a way to waste the rail and especially with big money on the line!
Is Aaron a big-time money driver?  Didn't look like it and especially on his home track!
It seems the big races here come up with "boxcar" prices and the bettors and fans got a competitive race as 1st to 7th was only
5.25 lengths!
Score 1 for the little guys for a change as they got the majority of the purse for a change!

Perfect analysis-----looks like he got buried!
Only James T. Kirk knows how to get out of a no-win spot, not Aaron Merriman!

A-a-Ron is out of his league in any race hire than state sire stakes races.  Seems to make the wrong moves almost every time the big money is down.  Great lifetime stats, just doesn’t show up when the lights are shining the brightest!

I really like Merriman. He gives his horses a chance to win. That's why he pulls so much. I'd much rather see someone pull then get dead buried 3rd on the rail and no place to go. He pulls and if the horse is good enough it goes on and wins, if not then it wasn't going to win anyway.

I have to admit it wasn’t the race it looked like could be on paper.
It’s the first since 2000 that we were there live. The feeling in the grandstand was not electric before hand like in the early 2000’s

Nasty wreck in the 14th last night. Hope all the horses and drivers are OK. Looked like Aaron Merriman and Billy Davis took the worst of it.

From Northfield Park

Update on the accident in race 14. All horses involved were able to walk away. No major injuries to any of our equine athletes. Tyler Angus was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. He was conscious and alert on the track. The other drivers all walked away.

Seen on Facebook
Tyler Angus was admitted for further tests in the morning but so far no broken bones……..all other drivers walked away unscathed……..none of the horses were seriously injured minus a few cuts and scrapes

Keep driving horses with your hand hold behind your seat so if your horse stumbles or breaks. Boom can’t do nothing. All Aaron merriman’s fault causing all that don’t matter how good he is   He’s a moron for pushing a horse til he falls. He was all done breaks had no hand holds to hold and caused the whole thing. Should be fined and barred rest of year for driving !!!!!!

I generally like Merriman but gotta agree with your handhold analogy Clean.
Not sure about a year but seems punishable.

There's a difference between continuing 'chasing a horse' (rocking in the sulky) for maximum effort and driving a horse.  The horse was looped and tiring, and yet Aaron kept pushing his luck.  We all saw the event that occurred because of this effort.

I read Tyler had fluid on the brain, and abnormal fluid near his side. But he was conscious and talking.

Ah, I hadn't heard that. I hope he is mending well. I saw Merriman is off his drives tonight as well.

Burke's horse spit the bit at what, 3-5, and off favorable fractions. Desperate Man went a hell of a mile. Not sure why he was so far off the rail horse in front of him, nor what caused the break. Spotted the field plenty though, LOL.
