Anyone ever seen a worse driver than Cory Stratton? How he lost that race is beyond me!

Went to the lead as a favorite should, in most cases. This was only this horses' 5th start.

Set very reasonable fractions......lo oked to me like the horse came up empty - Can't fault Cory on this one. (And I had him. btw).

What do you say about this one. Second loss on a heavy favorite.

Horse should have NOT been the favorite my humble opinion......only second start. The morning line favorite (#4) has had 9 races and is much more seasoned to this point.

Also, Stratton was able to keep the horse together after she jumped (shadow?) at the top of the stretch the first lap.

We ARE talking about MONTICELLO here......there is a reason the horses, trainers and drivers are there.  I think he's given two decent drives........... ..

BUT if he doesn't win the eight, on another favorite......... . I say "Off with his head"!!!!!!

.

Another great drive by Cory.

Not sure how he even finds the time to drive with all the horses that he "Trains"

OK, you win.........he sucks!!!

BUT if you played him to place or show ........you would have been in the "chips" today - he had 3 -seconds!!!!!

I've seen the "Merton boys" sit chili on a 1/9 shot and NEVER even make it LOOK like they are trying!!!

Cory is a great guy and unlike most in the horse business a reputable kind human being. I would not hesitate to give this man a horse to train. He’s in the barn every day.

Do you actually even know Corey? How could you call a good hard-working man like Cory a scumbag? You probably blew the last $10 you had in your pocket on him then came home and explain to the wife you blew everything!

Never met him, but know numerous people who have they all say hes a cheater and a jerk. How is it fair that he trains one horse and his brother drives another?

It’s pretty obvious that Cory will make his mark as a trainer while Jordan becomes a top driver. Cory is beginning to make some decent inroads at Yonkers, 20 wins $585,000, in 2024.Clearly Monticello is where he has learned his craft but I expect his future will be at the bigger tracks.

Can you inform me how he makes money fixing a race with those pool sizes?

A single driver by himself can't fix a race, but he can control whether his horse runs out or not by driving bad.

Met many an awesome horse person when I hung out on backstretch at the jug for two days.

Cory Stratton was at, or close to, the top of the list.

I doubt he fixed a race by breaking just after the half and recovering to finish a fast closing 2nd, in a race which saw all 8 starters finish within 2 lengths of each other.

If he's that good, he really shouldn't be wasting his time in harness racing.
