Title: Tim Tetrick
Post by: Hay 4 sail on August 30, 2024, 09:52:59 AM
This guy is in love with himself. Always posting how many wins he has, money won, leading driver and wins at Harrahs. Bragging he has drove for Million this yr at Harrahs. They been open since what March and you only bagged a million. That's low considering the tracks only open 4 months or so and there looking at 2.5 or 3 million. I don't know anyone else that does this but Tim.  73cv.2

Only a guess but I don't think TT has much time on his hands for posting. Likely his wife? PS: I only wish I had something to brag about.

He’s been trying to create a brand for years.  Giving away Tetrick racing gear and assorted crap.  I agree, wish I had those stats to brag about.  I think it’s a little tacky, but not enough to care.  Just ignore it.  tmbz1

I know he used to have a guy from Ohio chauffeur him around. Guy from Ohio quit because every time he hit the brakes or made a turn Tim grabbing dashboard or screaming.

He's been trying to grow his brand for years

I've always had the sense he could retire from racing relatively young

Not sure why Tim would be into bragging, branding, promoting or looking for attention whatsoever

his record speaks for itself his stats do not lie

please remember he doesnt drive much for Burke or Yimmy so that makes him appear not as good

i would still take him over 95% of the drivers out there, witnessing him live and in person when he first emerged on the east coast at Harrahs Chester around 2008-2013 when i went there almost everyday or so has me feeling that way

he has turned in many brilliant drives in the biggest races over the years--i dont know why he now does this

I would take him over any driver except for Dexter or Miller right now.. One big thing missing from his resume is a win in the LBJ. Probably would have gotten that had Captaintreacherou s raced there

King is getting older and slowing down

they(wife Joann and Jim)concentrate on a few sire stakes now--Pennsylvania and those few in Delaware-where they had a bunch of Roddys Bags Again offspring over the years

i doubt we will  see them in any Grand Circuit horses anymore

Shartin and Lyons Sentinel were managed well and driven great by TT-thats probably the end of the GS horses they will train

I don't know squat about Tim's social media presence, his wife selling stuff, etc. Off-track, well, I've known him for a long time and I've always liked him. From my dealings with him and to the extent I know him, he's a good guy. If someone told me they know Tim extremely well and he drinks, does drugs, cheats on and beats his wife, unless I know the person very, very well, I ain't buying it. Too much rumor, innuendo, and BS from people who either think they know, know they don't and pretend they do, or simply want to be part of the "cool" crowd.

On the track, I like him. I think he's a smart driver. Very smart. That doesn't help if you don't have horsepower between the shafts. I like the way he thinks about a race, stategizes, and he drives his race. Some may think he's slipping a bit, not doing as well as he used to and so on. Maybe. But it's not because he's lost anything in the skills department. He started very young and he used to be a machine. Won almost 1200 races in one year, and was driver of the year in 2007, 2008, and I don't remember, but maybe 2009. We are talking over 15 years ago, close to 20! He also had physical problems too, so maybe health is an issue. So, now he's in early 40's. I think it's more the increased competition in the driver colony and he's lost the go-to, first call, status with a barn or two. His business has changed a bit due to the competition. He used to be Linda Toscano's first call driver. Not so much anymore. A trainer you are in good with has an off year or two, and it impacts your business. TT can still drive and he can do it very well.

Well said. As I said earlier the only 2 drivers I would chose over him are Dexter and Miller. It's hard to believe he is only in his 40's. Seems like he's been around forever. People have a short memory. He did a pretty good job driving Confederate last year.LOL.

I have seen many interviews with him and he really seems humble and not comfortable with the spot light,,,,,,,,,,,,Many years ago i spoke to a black driver at chester and he told me that he loves TT AND TT sees no colour but sees a horseman when he deals with him and no driver in the industry makes him feel welcome than TT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I do not know this man and i have heard some things that are not positive but everything i have ever seen with him is high, high, first class and humble and he is a pleasure to watch drive as he seems smarter than most......

There's no doubt he's not "top dog" at the bowl anymore. As a matter of fact, because of the increased competition in the last 10 years or so, I actually think TT is occasionally overlooked. Absolutely I'd rather have Dexter, and I've long been a fan of Dave Miller. Give Tim horsepower and he's still a top driver.

Good work , Team Tetrick. many more should be conscious of their image and develop brand awareness. It is on cog in the wheel promoting the good of harness racing. And, at the same time self promotion. All at no cost to the industry of harness racing. Team Teatric may do more and reach more people than most racetracks. How is that bad?

I agree. I enjoy seeing Team Tetrick posts on Facebook. They show many top races and its not all about Tim.
