What is everyone's predictions on this heavyweight battle? They are the two best 3 yr olds this year going head to head, one win each. Do they just put in a training mile and finish as planned by the barn or race each other tough ?
My prediction is Nijinsky comes off Legendary's helmet and wins. His only blemish is Meadowlands pace where he never saw the rail on a tough tough trip and finished a great 2nd. Let me know your thoughts and predictions?

I'll take Legendary Hanover only because I like the driver and don't think he will fuck up again ngc3
-
Legendary by a nose.. Last race for both until the jug
-
Should be a good one. I’ll go with Nijinsky. I think he’ll get a trip and seems to be a pretty handy horse. James has emerged as a top driver anywhere but I like LP Roy just as much. Very capable driver.
-
Easy win for Nijinsky and another 1-2 for Casie.
-
gassie coleman, andrew harris is on line 1 , says its urgent !!!
-
Nice race for the Simcoe. Interesting both are going to the Jug. Another impressive 1-2 finish for Coleman connections.
-
If Nijinsky is anywhere close at the top of the stretch he wins.
-
If they enter Legendary in the Jug they are making a nice donation because he has zero chance on a half! I don't think he can beat a good field of horses the rest of the year UNLESS he can brush to lead and get far away from them like he did at Meadowlands. This horse has shown anytime he gets looked in the eye or roughed up a bit he quits like a little bitch. He's pea hearted speed rat and won't make a sire!

They are sending him to the Jug. I am sure it's not a donation, he should get a check regardless of how the race goes.

If there is more than two divisions and he makes the final he won't see a check!

He's had 20 lifetime starts. He's only finished out of the top 2 twice. He's the fastest horse this year. It seems unlikely that he would go home empty handed.

Legendary will be fine on a 1/2. Like always the draw is so important. Nikjinski is just so handy and so sharp, and LP Roy is underrated, he can drive with anyone at any track. He’ll be tough to beat. Captians Quarters is also going to surprise them all one of these starts.

Good point. If he quits like a bitch...you are right...18 out of 20 first or second...I guess he's only quit twice this year. LOL.
I think the Jug can be an anomaly and enigmatic race. Only a truly great horse can overcome bad post/bad trip. I am not saying he's one, but that's why the run the races, LOL.

There are 2 big factors with these 2 for the LBJ.. post draw AND most importantly is how each would handle a second heat.. It will be the first and only time either horse would race 2 heats.. Nobody on here can honestly say which one would handle the 2nd heat better. So flip a coin and enjoy the showdown.

It also depends on how they are trained. In the first Breeders Crown when Dragon's Lair upset Nihilator, it was later revealed, Jeff Mallet would go out on the track after Dragon's Lair would race and go another mile. Essentially Jeff Mallet outdid the big boys.
-
Casie's two horses will be ready for the Jug and trained to handle the 2 heats. Beaton worked for her and has been involved with winning Jug horses from the past. Post position is the biggest factor.

IMO Nijinsky is better suited for the half mile track. He has a quicker brush and more gate speed than Legendary, and the four turns may take something out of the bigger horse. Having to do it twice may be too much. Unless Legendary draws the rail in the final I think Nijinsky has the clear advantage.
