Definitely looks like Tim Tetrick has put on some weight, his driving silks are starting to look pudgy.
-
I'd have to look. He showed up at the Meadowlands around March. There was no question then that he gained a significant amount. I thought he would have taken some off.
-
drinks too much,,, alcoholic
-
once again big kt
not something that should be posted on this or any other site
-
go to bed you ole goat
-
Tetrick drives at Dover Downs almost every night, and from his house in New Jersey he drives thru Delaware which has alot of fast-food restaurants and donut shops, so it would be easy for him to gain weight.
-
no worries kt, I'm still awake
i guess you are watching tmz for more rumours

I think your. Mistaken tim for Jody Jamieson
-
Tim had one hip replaced in 2008. It is now 16 years. I have noticed that he "ambles" a bit when he walks and he may have some discomfort from that and be taking cortisone if there is any inflammation etc. Cortisone can cause an increase in appetite, give the face a chubbier appearance etc. Pure speculation, but that was first thought when I saw his face earlier this year.

LUCPARK:
While Tetrick is nowhere near as pudgy as Jody Jameson, who by the way won a race at Red Mile on Saturday, he's definitely put on weight which could be due to his eating on the road alot because he travels so much, plus he's getting older.
SeattleSlew:
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Tim had his other hip replaced too a few years later. I had my right hip replaced 2 years ago and still hopple some but I'm alot older than him.
-
He has put weight on... could be age or maybe he's just not watching his weight anymore?... idk how Dunn and Mccarthy can stay so skinny lol

Tetrick Today Futurity Day
Seven Drives
6th -- 3 times
8th -- once
9th -- twice
10th -- once
Only beat a total of seven horses all day from seven races.
-
That's what happens when you're not driving live horses.
-
Tim didn't wake up one day, forget how to drive, and people noticed, so he lost business because his skills diminished. His business dropped because of more competition in the driver's room, his clientele wasn't producing the results they once did, and he started to lose horsepower. It's that simple. I don't squat about his eating habits, LOL. His health (physical) certainly could have an impact. He's had both hips replaced, one in his late 20's and one at age 32! Not good. The second surgery didn't go as well as the first. Even today, 10 plus years later, he still doesn't walk normal, very well, etc. So that can absolutely be an issue and have an impact.

Yup. He’s old and washed up.
-
90% of Timmy's problem is his attitude behind closed doors to trainers. There tired of his shit because he isn't the top talent he once was. He's was notorious for saying "put me down and I'll drive" then when he was listed on the 3 horses he would screw you leaving you with some idiot who couldn't drive a hot nail into a snowbank. The other bad thing was going behind trainers backs to owners telling them to move horses to other trainers or let Josh Marks work on them. Look what happened with Jimmy King. The only person is the history of racing to train for 40yrs and get better in yr 40 then fall off the map again. Timmy had a good run and probably stashed a lot of money away. Probably time to do the Brian Sears and exit stage left.

Agreed. He's simply not getting the horsepower anymore.

Excellent analysis

He's obviously way too young to think about retiring and I'm sure he's loaded, but sometimes people are in denial that their skills may have diminished some. Sometimes live drives fall into your lap because their regular driver jumps off them for what they felt was something better.
-
comes down to horsepower and who your clients are
remember jim king not helping him as he did in the past
of course he seems to be doing okay on fallout
i am sure at some point he will slow down and own and train a few down and drive them himself
these big drivers get run ragged from May to November with all the travel and all the drives, cant last at that pace forever
Lexington has allowed them to make much more money but it does take a toll on them over time , will see fewer and fewer driving regularly in the winter for sure

Here is my Tetrick story.
About 1987 or 88.
An owner sends me to southern IL. to buy horses.
One of my stops is Tom Tetrick's farm.
Tom and I are standing in the barn doorway.
Up through the lane comes a kid on a pony.
The pony is on a high speed run.
Bare back and only a rope tied on the halter.
The kids arms are a swinging and his legs are a flapping wildly
I say something like "Whoa Kid".
Tom says something like "Ya Timmy can sure make that old pony go".

Highly overrated in my opinion
-
I don't think he's overrated or underrated. If he has the horse he can win, if he doesn't, he usually won't win.

As an Owner it disturbs me to keep reading nonsense you keep posting--so look at my avatar--Ill do fact checking.
1) Owners are NOT tired of Timmy-yes he did ask once in awhile if a horse he drove had bad luck-hed tell my trainer-put me down next week. Then if he had another horse in for a horse/trainer that he drove more often, or it was simply a better horse--he would not drive. EXACTLY like most top drivers do almost every day. Bartlett does it in most races at Yonkers--just check it out.
2) Again the Josh Marks BS--Josh Marks is in Canada-and he's in Jail. Hes not- or has been-involved with Tim Tetrick. In fact--Josh Marks has been banned from entering the USA for a long time now.
3) Jim King Jr-always has been a very good trainer-he got lucky with Shartin N and the other imports--they were just outstanding horses and King rode the wave as did Timmy. Its hard to maintain that level-and Jim King didnt all of a sudden fall off the map-in this business-its essential you have great skill--but you need luck! Without luck-you may be a top trainer--but you cant fly with the eagles when you are on the ground with turkeys.

I don't know what you are smoking but Jimmy King has lost his USTA license before for race fixing and bak in the 70s for drug violations on horses....anyone can improve on King......brow beaten by his wife
-
Middle school dropout.....lowli fe

I agree! tmbz1

King got the Lyons horses a few years back after the Pocono scene when Marks went nuts at Schnittiker and Dowse lost all his owners the next day. Lyons Serenity was one of those.

Pretty simple. Clear, concise, and dead on IMO.

To be honest, the Down Under boyz have upset the apple cart.. Sears,Tetrick, Miller are pushed out a little more every year,, top GC trainers Ake, Marcus, Daley, Pelling, Ryder have all basically moved on.. Gingras tho is still holding with Burke and Takter clients for now.
-
Timmy just wants to rest on his past accomplishments and feels he deserves some respect for that . This game is a today game and he’s lost a step like Aaron Rodgers .
-
More than losing a step, there is more competition for drives, and he's not really hooked up with any of the top stables.
