My friend and fellow countryman Scotty is by far the best announcer in the game today. Looking forward to his handicapping picks and inside information that he gets when expo opens in December. Great guy and better person who loves harness racing. The only track announcer that you don’t have to mute now a days

He puts in a great amount of time watching replays to handicap the races BUT HE TALKS TOO MUCH. Lots of his of his points are worthless. Plus he is handicapping very cheap horses racing in Maine and California, and weekly consistency for these types of horses is rare.

Exactly the reason why I've been betting on harness since 1973 and I am proud to say I have never once even handicapped a race contested at Cal Expo or anywhere in Maine let alone bet on one.

Don't great announcers get better gigs at better tracks? Cal Expo and Cumberland Maine aren't better tracks!
-
do they still call him Scott Earache
-
He also used to be the announcer at Balmoral Park. I thought he was okay, but nothing special.

Why did Cal Expo get rid of Gary Seibel? Anyone know?

I appreciate his effort. Good announcer.

What happened to the sexual assault and harassment charges against the female judge a while back. That Chris Schlick guy might of swept it under the rug. I know in Chicago the fans hated him and finally management knew they had to,boot him out. Too much of a know it all. Not a bad announcer just not a guy you would really want for a top, track but he’ll,do at cal expo in Maine where nobody bets or cares anymore.

He’s pretty good but far from the best. There are a lot of good announcers around. Ken Warkentin and Ken Middleton are excellent. Gabe Prewitt is very good with a distinct sound. The guy at Northfield is very good. Mike Bozich at Philly does a very good job and is unique. George Anthony is very good and entertaining and so is one of the other guys at Yonkers. Jeff Zidek is solid at the Meadows. Gary Seibel was excellent but retired. There’s a guy at Freehold recently, who is good. I think Ken and Ken are the best.
-
I heard he announces without pants. A superstition of his. Sounds a little demented.

Out of 3 tracks!
Not a 5 star review, is it!!

You gotta be kidding me! That is really sick if it’s true. I just know at Maywood some nights the fans would shout to him stfu. They got rid of him real fast in Chicago.

His calls are actually pretty good and is a dynamite handicapper. BUT I can’t get past the not wearing pants superstition. They say he is superstitious BUT that sounds like a mental issue. Next time you hear him just remember he most likely is in his underwear. (Or panties)

Probably and one hand typer too.

What is he using the other hand for?

A little? LOL.

Ken and Ken are both excellent IMO. Different people like different announcers.

Hopefully Lance can give the correct answer to this!!
-
Scott is a decent announcer. He could be over the top at times. Not in my conversation for best ever.
-
He did something to a female in management and was thrown out of Chicago and ended up stealing some property that didn’t belong to him. It will be a matter of time before that Chris Schlick guy at expo boots his ass. Just watch
-
i think he does a good job and he tries to get money into the pools and he knows that a card of 3 dollar shots is bad for racing but is he the best ever is a joke as he is not close but is good,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, SAM mckee ,,,,,EARL Lennox,,,,,,,,,,, KEN Warkington,,,,,,,,,Jack e LEE AND MANY MORE WERE BETTER,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
-
The best race caller currently is the guy that does Hong Kong. Mark McNamara.
-
I am shocked no one mentioned Monticello’s 40 year announcer Howard Oil 😀

Yes! Add Joe Alto (RIP)-Buffalo Raceway and Los Alamitos, Gary Seibel, Joe Ricci and Frank Salive at Pompano Park [RIP]. I'd take Larry Lederman {RIP} over Howard any day too!

The female he did something to was at cal-xpo. He called her a name that she deserved to be called and was asked to leave because it was the owners daughter. Never stole anything. Stand up guy with a passion for racing. The name calling has been forgiven and he returned to announcing. Life is tough sometimes. Even tougher when you do something stupid. Even though she deserved to be called that name He should have realized who she was. The work was CUNT.
-
Mike Sardella at Saratoga does a good job.
-
The overall quality of announcers is at an all time low
-
Sharp and colorful on the mic but has a tough time sticking to the job
-
Like many other things in life, announcers are a matter of taste. In women, I may prefer blonde, curvy, quiet and tall. You may like redheaded, thin, petite and outgoing. I really like Scott, pants or no pants. I was also a BIG fan of Max Brewer, Phil Georgeff, Gil Levine, Frank Salive, both Beckers, Sam McKee, Larry Lederman (especially at Atlantic City) and John Bothe. I never cared for Jack E Lee or any of the Aussie clones. Different strokes for different folks.

Scott is the best ever. He is comfortable with a mic in his face and can close his eyes and announce a horse race. Plus we are both Jewish and he gets extra props from me for that! Eric P.

Look at the age of all of the announcers currently working in the business today. Sardella and the guy from Northfield are probably the youngest! What does this tell you about the quality of the announcers today?
-
races delayed past saturday at cumberland. scott plugged in too many space heaters. thinking he calls races without any clothes on. it was 60 degrees out. space heaters. how hot does he need it to be. next week he will have a barrel fire in his room.
-
In the grand stands their is 1 small header that would not keep an outhouse warm. 75 of them would take the chill off.
-
Sorry but the best announcer is the guy that does that gold cup and saucer no clue what his name is but he makes the races so much fun
-
Vance Cameron is his name, and he is excellent.

He wears clothes. Just no pants. That’s what I have heard and many times over the years. No pants and a betting machine in the announcers booth.

Vance is a beaut! tmbz1
