For the record I have always defended AM or avoided the conversion in the past, but can't this time
Scott Z chose off Memento Mori
Anthony told his clients he expected to use either James or Mark, but they were both already listed
says the colt is tricky to drive, wears a snake cord, can get hot.
Just so we are straight, James or Mark MacDonald, while neither have sat behind the colt, would have been listed.
But David Miller, Tim Tetrick, and Andrew McCarthy are not reliable to drive him, as they will all be in the drivers room.
while Anthony goes to Jersey to drive the horse
I'd be surprised if any of his clients are too thrilled with this decision.
Edit: I am not part of thestable, never have been. I defend AM due to all the new owners he has brought in.
-
Zeron has babied the horse all year so will be interesting to see how lead foot handles him. Mark sends them more than anyone so not sure he would have been any better. Pry would have went with David Miller if the colt is as touchy as they say.
Thought it was interesting the Scotty Z chose off after setting a world record with him for Melander’s 8 hole. That horse seems kind of average

PHP, what you also failed to mention that he said he does not care what anybody thinks and he will fly to NJ and then fly to Chicago and then fly back to Cleveland. Hate to see the expense for the clients but as always what does he care

Do tell!

AMAC will break the horse and Timeisonyourside will get parked. AMAC is a legend in his own mind.

I agree , lot great drivers will be watching him instead of one of them driving him
-
I know some trainer drivers who stink but won't use a catch driver because they don't want to give up the 5%.
-
5% of nothing is nothing. His Ego plus charging owners for flights and the opportunity to be next to the best drivers in the world is too much for AMAC.
-
have to agree, no need for him to go there
just an fyi , amac has sat behind him once in a charted line , in his second qualifier in june
might have trained him once or twice at most

Why drive a horse that wears every boot in the tack trunk or drive for a guy that can get you in the Hambo?
-
I have to tell you this about Lawmaker and AMAc wanting to drive Lawmaker in the Hambo. I was part of the Lawmaker syndicate owning 5 percent of Lawmaker. There was a lady named Gail who was part of the syndicate who was involved with The Stable.CA She also owned percentage in Lawmaker. Gail didn’t like Amacs driving so she headed a campaign to have a professional driver for this once in a lifetime chance of getting to go to the Hambo. There was also a married couple that had percentage in Lawmaker that did not want AMAc to drive either. Gail gathered all Lawmakers owners up as a group through email to campaign to have a professional driver on Lawmaker for the Hambo and of course the Hambo elimination. Of course AMAc didn’t like his dream of being able to drive in the Hambo ripped from under him. AMAc fought it but in the end AMAc did give in to letting the Lawmaker group have their way and getting a pro driver. Lawmaker group decided on Dave Miller. In the elimination Lawmaker was sitting in a great spot to at least to make it to final. I would have to look it up but I think Lawmaker was in the pocket riding the rail. Lawmaker made a huge break on the last turn heading to the 3 quarter pole with Dave Miller in the bike. So no Hambo for us. Would of love to see the outcome of AMAc sitting behind Lawmaker in the eliminations. I admit having reservations about having pulling AMAc off Lawmaker after AMAc drove Lawmaker as Lawmakers regular driver. After that, AMAc definitely put his foot down where owners can’t have names, phone numbers, emails to communicate with your co-owners on the same horse. I can tell you I didn’t have a clue who all the other owners were on most of my horses I owned percentages in. I finally pulled out of that stable when he started having “miscellaneous charges” on our bills. I know for a fact we were paying for Amacs Ohio rental house and all the utilities, etc divided amongst all the owners. AMAc also would make his owners pay for fines also. Gail put an end to that when AMAc tried to spread an excessive whipping violation fine amongst his owners in their monthly bills. I finally got out when he started that Miscellaneous charge bullshit.
-
I have always felt your better off going with a trainer that charges only legitimate training expenses without the unrestricted lifestyle amenities included. Also, there should be good two way communication between owner and trainer including knowing who your partners are. Otherwise, it's a broken ownership plan.
-

This is 100% the reason I would never join.

Absolutely. Listen, if he discloses everything going in, then you know what you are getting into and you have no right to complain. If he doesn't, that's not right. Period. I have no idea what you sign, agree to, before, during, after, etc. Buyer beware. That supersedes all.
-
I expect him to do a good job. He has earned the right to race them and he will be competent.

Thank you kindly for the first hand account- not at all shocked by what went on however (very predictable).

AMAC is running the greatest harness racing scam out there. Fleecing a lot of people a little at a time. The guy is clueless behind a horse.
-
I also was of the opinion it was a bit stupid for Amac to go drive that colt, but truthfully he haded the horse a very decent trip that the horse didn't do much of anything with. He does make the final off of that, correct?
-

He does make the final - thought it was a weird trip. He left with him but then gapped bad down the backside. Felt like AMac babied him and then the colt didn’t really respond off of fractions/spot he should have been able to close from.
-
did he wear shoes today?
I know he was bare foot in his win at Lexington
he's going to need to be 6-7 lengths better nest week to get anything...that's if he doesn't draw outside

Looking after number 1 and a select few, the owners are very disposable, 1000s from 13 countries

FYI, if anyone has read the care of the trotter and pacer, i believe Ray Remmen said he doesn't see a problem in billing an owner (transportation for sure but not sure about lodging, but not a food expense). So, this is open to debate as Remmen said this 30 years ago give or take.

It's Called A Detention Barn. When A Detention Barn Is Involved AMAC's Horses Seemed To Come Up Empty.
no be realistic.
he was stables at oak Grove and The Red Mile
-
The post about Lawmaker is 100% true
Also- anyone find out that Anthony HATES when you try to take money off the site.
Sell some shares- he wants you to keep the money on site for expenses/bills & more shares?
Pathetic, he is this this 100%, I'd love to hear a different opinion
-
no be realistic.
he was stables at oak Grove and The Red Mile
correct. not to mention all the horses stabled at Northfield and The Meadows
horses are no better or worse from D barn

Ohio And Pennsylvania Are Chemist Trainers Playground. Especially Ohio. If You Think AMAC's Horses Race On Hay and Oats They Don't. He Charges For Pre-Race And It's On The Monthly Bill.

Ohio is the Wild West right now - positives at the freaking county fairs, 4 meth positives in 90 day window, starting 2 year olds 30+ times, overbreeding, rumors of trainers starting replacement horses at the fairs, crooked drivers and trainers at Northfield, etc

That can’t get Delaware started. They reign supreme.

I don't get why so many people on here are so obsessed with AMAC and this topic.. there have been multiple threads about him and the stable.. if you join the ownership group you should know what you are getting into.. just like any other "investment" Quite frankly I don't see why the fascination with this topic. What of any significance have they ever won to merit this type of conversation. The breeders crown thread has 1 stinking comment and this has 30.. ask yourselves what is more important for our sport and entertainment.

To answer your question, people in harness racing (and in general) hate to see other people do well and be successful. Many of the haters on here are degenerate failures who tried and couldn’t make a go of it. That’s the main reason.

This.
All the haters will become your friend, but only after you get busted.

Could not have said it better

Drove Timeisonmyside as well as can be expected to get to the final

I'm sure somebody will find something to criticize about the drive, just give it time.

Cock sucker thinks he’s Billy O. Couldn’t drive a nail into wood, and does the whip drag finishing 3rd ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

To answer your question, people in harness racing (and in general) hate to see other people do well and be successful. Many of the haters on here are degenerate failures who tried and couldn’t make a go of it. That’s the main reason Many successful people such as ALFONSO CAPONE AND BERNIE MADOFF HAVE BEEN WRONGED BY ACCUSATIONS BECAUSE OF SUCCESS AND LOOK AT HONEST HARD WORKING TRAINERS LIKE TRAVIS ALEXANDER AND RON BURKE OR RICHARD MOREAU OR LOU PENA AND YOU SEE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF WRONG DOINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL,,,,,,,,,,
-
I can't hardly read this but if you are suggesting the trainers in caps are honest in the sense of "clean" trainers I truly don't know what to tell you. Hard-working, will agree.
-
I think he's being facetious.
-

He did get 2 horses in the final
-
I think he's being facetious.
whew, good. I couldn't tell bc of the quotes.
Back to the subject at hand, no problem with the drive tonight either. 2 for 2 in the final. Not sure what else you might ask for as an owner (which I am not).
I also don't understand the vitriol directed his way. I get the impression he's a pompous ass, and not surprised he made a run in politics, but if he even gets half the owners he recruits, snows, whatever you want to call it, into the game, it's a help. Look around. The middle class of racing is quickly diminishing. Hell, even if he recruits a few fans, it's a help.
-
Wait till next week when he gets nothing with both horses. Net 15,000 plus loss for two weeks. But AMAC knows how to lose money. He got the perfect setup tonight and was lucky to hang on for third.
-
His horses aren't good enough to win, so the only way he'll get money next week is if leaves and sits on the rail and sucks along for 4th or 5th.
-

what about the connections that didn't make the final?
-
Most of the connections that didn't make the final didn't deserve to be in the race. Easy come easy go.
-

so do you believe the small time owners who have horses racing in breeders crown finals would trade the opportunity to save a few bucks?
-
Just another example AMAC'S Ego versus proper horse management. He has no chance in finals and more than likely will get nothing. A great example of how horses get hurt by racing them where they don't belong. OH I RACED IN THE BREEDERS CROWN big deal.
-
I raced at Garden State in I believe 1986, the purse was $1M against 4 or 5 of Guidas horses. We finished 6th or 7th....guess how many people cared we were in the race. Rather have raced for $1000 and won. The only thing his 1%ers get to do is brag to their friends is that they have a horse in the Breeders Crown, all of who have no idea what they are talking about or could care
-
Some owners are so attached to their horses, they lose their objectivity and think their horse is better than it really is. They stake their horse to all the big races totally pissing money away when it can earn money in softer races. They figure since they've paid the nomination fees, why not take a shot, and the trainer goes along with them.
-

I don’t think this is fair. They managed this horse pretty well all year and protected him from knocking heads with the best. He set a world record at Lexington and went faster than a good portion of this field on the same day.
He didn’t embarrass himself in the elim even though it was obvious he missed Scotty - Amac babied him. The draw sucks for the connections but I wouldn’t be surprised if he picks up a check. When you’re going for $600-$700k I’ll take my chance.
-
you gotta be in it to win it, or at least try for a cheque
-
He ran last when running for the conservative party as he had no message and had very few votes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
-
just an fyi
i am sure many of us have horses with other trainers
do we always agree on their driver choice??
do we always agree on where they race them ??
do we like getting billed for their expenses etc
just saying
-
That's why I only had two owners. We did really well, I trained horses, they had real jobs, and were successful. They didn't care if I drove, they always had realistic expectations. I never bullshitted them, If they were junk we got rid of them. If I gave a shitty drive, They knew I already knew it. Sold a lot of nice 3 yr old's. We only raced 1 older horse, he was a pet. Ya gotta have control.

A really good post and i am quite sure it is honest,,,,,,,,,,,,, YOU sound like the perfect horseman.........
-
Does every "Stable owner" charge all of the other owners to be there to drive, even if it could be a detriment to the bottom dollar.
The family, they all are paid for too
Food & Starbucks for not only 1, but multiple, many times a weekend.
What about the house in Ohio for him? Do the small share owners typically cover that kind of stuff?
Good forbid if you try to cash out a few shares & take the money off site, he does not like that one bit.
-
Why is he not listed as the trainer,,,,,,,,,,,,,, How does he make money if he is not the trainer ,,,,,,,,,,,, Why are people promoting him when everybody looses money,,,,,,,,,,, He retired a horse two years ago and was called a hero and i do not understand who gave him the right to retire a horse he does not own without asking all owners if they were ok with it,,,,,,,,,,,,,, This guy sickens me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Watch one of his videos and he talks like he is giving money away and tells the people how he is under paying for most horses,,,,,,

Above I posted Lawmaker bill that was for June 2018. I tried to just post the picture of my printed out bill. However I don’t know how to post a picture. The first number is AMOUNT. The second number is HST FEE. The 3rd is TOTAL column. At this time I only had 2 percent of Lawmaker but did end up buying 3 more percent into Lawmaker. At very bottom you will see Anthony does charge for flight or travel to fly. I had shares in multiple horses at different times. When AMAc went to Ohio and I seen I was getting misc charges and paying for his house rental, utilities I said I am done. When I first started with The Stable.CA his bills were reasonable. As time went on misc charges were added. When I started with them in 2016 they mostly raced in Canada also.

Some owners are so attached to their horses, they lose their objectivity and think their horse is better than it really is. They stake their horse to all the big races totally pissing money away when it can earn money in softer races. They figure since they've paid the nomination fees, why not take a shot, and the trainer goes along with them.
They call it being “stable blind “.

What is " farm based veterinary service "? Are him or his trainers doing vet work without being licensed veterinarians?

I had that same question but you beat me to asking.

I have heard the word jealous used by Lance Armstrong and Ron BURKE AND Bill Robinson and many others and if you were jealous about the home run race with BARRY BONDS and Sammy Sosa was BS YOU WERE RIGHT but when this question came up on sports talk shows and the word jealous would creep into the conversation,,,,,,,,,,,,,Years ago i heard LOU PENA and his owners use that same word and to me when reading this stupid word with huge evidence AS pena was winning at a pace that was insane,,,,,,,, I remember LOU PENAS owner showing up on horseplop and saying that people can not stand his success and it was huge success but were is Anthony MACDONALD huge success as his operation only makes him money and very few others and those who make money only receive a small portion of the winnings and AMAC GETS IT ALL,,,,,,,,,,,,

Paying for his house in Ohio, vehicle, plane trips, gas, Starbucks, meals for the whole fam.
That's highway robbery charging your owner's for all of your expenses + your families too.
None of the owners really make any money, then to top it all off, if you do- he HATES when you request YOUR money from them.
-
It looks like they are starting to breed their own stock - any idea how that is being handled. Do they get to price the yearling.
Is Anthony the sole decision maker on sales. For instance is someone came to them after Lexington and offered on Mori who he bring that to the group for a decision or no?

I am owed $356 from TheStable.CA after all these years. Never asked for it but Wendy sends me out a bill invoice (I only get an invoice because I have a positive balance). This one for 2/29/24 that is the last I received one because someone on this site says Wendy the book keeper is sick. Yes, they spread that out amoungst all their clients under “misc” when I left. It really wasn’t that much when you spread it out amongst 900 people. Right when he hit Ohio, soon after I left. Below is my invoice for what I have left money wise sitting in my Stable.CA. Truly wish I knew how to post pictures

Where's the interest accrued?
-
No interest. Been sitting there for at least 2 to 2 1/2 years. I could get it if I ask however now that Wendy (bookkeeper) is sick it will take a minute for the stable.CA to distributeI am assuming.
-
Their book keeper HATES when you request your money.
Always seems like a big issue
