Title: Roll With Joe's stud career has come to this!
Post by: wizardofoz on December 06, 2024, 03:23:21 PM
From NY's prestigious Blue Chip farm to Minnesota now!  The world champion sire of this year’s likely Horse of the Year, Twin B Joe Fresh 1:47.3 ($2,335,765), will stand in Minnesota for the 2025 breeding season for $5000.  (https://scontent-iad3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/469197107_122100147392663833_6144538934705834242_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s1080x2048_tt6&_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=833d8c&_nc_ohc=DWE9bOkwZl4Q7kNvgG0Vwp8&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.xx&_nc_gid=A85gAQVuDWxqIlqdmQoRbiR&oh=00_AYBqJYQa7wY7T12xv7vO5A6-3BpGADv-JDXVoHbdkBCcYQ&oe=67593949)

$5,000. you could breed to him for $400 in PA. When he was in NY. you could find breedings for $500, but Herb Burns was adding alittle of his own 73cv.2

Bred to 13 mares in 2024 got 1 in foal is the word. Just retire the poor thing, why take an infertile old stud to a new state anyway. Joke

Big time stud fee for a small/upcoming program?  In theory there should be less competition, but how much do eliminations and finals go for there?  Can you recoup your investment in this program even if you sweep every elimination and finals at 2 and 3 years of age?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Top horses in the program can put up $75,000 during the season, with one horse having $125,000 (but that is an exception) and several division leaders as low as $50,000.  This would be for each of 2, 3 and 4; so a "kingpin" in a given class who held form for 3 years might put $200,000 on his card from just the sire stakes.  There are also the usual kinds of purse bonuses.  Only problem is that Running Aces will just have 55 nights, so not a lot of overnight opportunity.
