Did they actually cancel for the benefit of the horses of their pocketbook?
Pretty dumb statement.
They would have done a brisk business if they raced today.
PS-the Meadows cancelled too.
-
Interesting that they cancel in the daytime, but Dover still runs at night with a pretty big handle for them.

my guess it is more of a racing surface issue than the cold temps
in the past-we have seen a few Monti cards cancelled due to the track surface--at Dover that doesn't seem to be the case--only several inches of snow makes them cancel if I am not mistaken
-
Earlier this month they had 6 inches of snow and cancelled, then about a week ago, the horses had paraded and scored for the 1st race, but they ended up cancelling, so that was probably due to the track surface.
-
Gets pretty cold at Mohawk and Western Fair too.

Monticello cares? Who robbed all the purse money that was supposed to get added with the new casino? I know, they care.

Thats on Faraldo and company blantant incompetence. Much like when they turned off the signal all while collecting tons of lawyer fees.
-
The horseman have to agree to cancel. The track just can't cancel with the horseman's association saying yes.

that casino is going bankrupt , they dont have many customers

THE casino was a joke. Put some slots in an old decrepit mall in a poor area and got their hopes up. Dummies.

Resort World did exactly that in Newburgh.
