Why would qualifiers be cancelled? The snow should start around 6:00 pm.

If traveling is going to be dangerous, why is the sports book and simulcast betting remaining open ? Don’t the people working there have to drive somewhere to get home ?
The fans/gamblers should also be encouraged to stay home and off the roads.

It doesn't look like the snow is going to start until around 6:00 PM, so they could make an announcement later on about closing the sportsbook and simulcasting.

why do folks go to a sports book and/or simulcast when they can do it on their phone?

Here in southern Maine, we expect the storm to start around 11PM and getting 8-12 inches. New Jerey will get their snow around 8PM with about 6 inches expected. Would be a tough ride home from North Jersey for a lot of folks. They did the right thing shutting down tonight.

Very true.  Most of them have phones given to them by the welfare office that don't have the capability to download anything, only make phone calls with a set amount of minutes so they have no choice but to bet on person.  Also many of them can't figure out how to bet online and have no desire to learn.

Just called our friends in jersey . No snow until late night if at all . Forecast changed over there in nyc area . What a joke qualifiers should have been run for sure . Fan duel sports book jammed guess it was a premature decision.

Had around 4 inches here on Long Island but didn't stop Aqueduct from running today.

They were probably being considerate since most horses were likely shipping from upstate NY and the card would have been ending during the worst of it.
