I guess all the talk of Surick training horses, being in the landscaping business, and whatever else was said.....must be true! He has a stand-in/double doing his prison sentence for him. LOL.

Oakes is supposed to get out in June of this year based on his sentence. I haven't heard anything concerning an early release.

Someone said he was getting credit due to alcohol/rehab or some sort of program. I don't know.

Is he as good with a Shamwow as he was with a syringe?  Chris was a smart man. Took his lumps, got sentence and was out in a halfway house in like 9 months.

Looking back on the indictments, at the time I was elated that something was finally being done about all the drug use. I was sure it would clean up the sport. What an idiot I was. I can only speak about Harness Racing and that is, it is littered with filthy abusive criminals and needs to be shut down.

In the end it will be the general public who shut it down. Last weeks NY Times story was the biggest blow by far. We all know the "industry" couldn't care less about integrity, so far 2 million to fight HISA with USTA membership revenue and no vote to approve it. Your money FOOLS. I'm sure Russell Williams and Joe Faraldo are truly worried about all of you.  ngc3 But now the mainstream media has the real story of how this dead industry is propped up with state welfare. And in today's day and age? Where good people with real jobs who actually contribute to society are struggling? Yeah let's continue to fund horse killers who fuck the public while first responders, the military, teachers, healthcare workers bust their asses and live week to week. BUT, you people create jobs!!! Fucking HILARIOUS. Shoveling horse shit and hitting a vein while the state funds it isn't a good look. Best of luck when the next foot drops.  tmbz1

Mainstream media??   They put the article in the editorial pages for shock value. I’m gonna guess they didn’t want the lawsuits that would of come from such blatant lies and omissions if they called that real news

An FBI round 2 would be nice to see but sounds like Covid stopped them from proceding further and issuing more indictments

If Covid was the reason, I would have liked to see them pick up where they left off as soon as possible, as soon as back to work, whatever. I for one want to see more of this. Change will always bring about growing pains. Two steps forward one step back. HISA will have rocky spots, bumps in the road, etc. But, this kind of action-----works. They didn't catch anyone by mistake. If the bigger culprits had even bigger ones they could have flipped on, maybe that's a hope. Whatever it is, whatever it takes to make progress, to improve, I am for it. Especially if owners are involved and other than Gural I have yet to see anyone do anything on this. Follow the chain, from trainers, to vets, to compounders, suppliers, and so on. I say do more.
