According to the USTA's latest Fines and Suspensions, trainer Lisa Z at Saratoga got a TCO2 positive last year on 03-09-2024. She was fined $2500 and given a 75-day suspension. Apparently, she appealed and had a hearing on 02-28-2025 (note: almost a full year later).
The result of that hearing was a doubling of the fine amount to $5000 and a full year suspension (03-06-25 thru 03-05-26). What the hell happened? Did it have anything to do with it being a second offense? Either way, if she didn't appeal would the original fine and suspension stood?
BTW, the horse (MR DUNNIGANS) finished 5th in the race he got the TCO2 positive.

It was just a couple of years ago that she couldn't lose. Who is Paul Zabielski? He is the trainer now
-
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that hearing! They need to get rid of her permanently. And Paul. Criminal dopers.

Her Father, I believe.

That isn’t her first one
-
I’m not 100% sure but I think she got more than one on same day at plainridge
-
She was a front for her father Paul. He is a bad apple also.

You'd think they would put the baking soda away! Lol

Looks like the ones that get caught are that “stupid”/‘dumb’!!
When many of the individuals get ‘caught’ doing this they really blow up the amount the can use. I believe the number is approximately 39 and many are getting caught with 42+ with some as high as 46+!
When the USTA suspensions come out every week, read who gets caught and the ‘number’ associated with this!!

Wow that's some positive, never saw a fine get worse

Most try to skirt the rules and give just enough to pass the box. Unfortunately many other factors come into play on the levels. If you getting through with 6 ounces 8 hours out, but you don’t keep your horses hydrated when the weather changes you getting a positive. These days most TCO2 positive are only a few points over

Lisa was a leading trainer a couple years ago but was on Facebook 24/7

When you cheat, you can be leading trainer. Anybody remember a horse called Race Me Rocky from 2017/2018?
With Lisa Zabielski “training” him, went from a cheap claimer to beating Panochio in the Open at Saratoga. The supposed “owner” Delmis Esquivel was from Florida and the previous “trainer,” Rita Polese, got in trouble at Pompano courtesy of Byron Pineda, the owner of Rocky. Esquivel was Pineda’s girl friend and he couldn’t get licensed in NY.

i agree mike

I thought the fine amounts were 50% if paid but 100%(double if appealed). Losing an appeal is more punishment.....
