Title: Gary Dileo
Post by: Arrive7100 on March 30, 2025, 04:43:42 AM
How did Gary Dileo ever get to give his picks on FanDuel/TVG? His picks are even worse than his wardrobe. Tonight he started off wearing a tan sports jacket then changed to a light blue one later on. He feels the need to come onto the track and greet the winning driver, stalk him in the winner's circle and chit-chat on the way out. Some drivers are starting to ignore him and blow him off. He acts like he's a celebrity when he's not.

I remember him when he used to sell his tip sheet, LOL. He was also doing the handicapping show on the weekends. The guy has been "in" the industry at the Big M for a long time now. Good, bad, goofy, whatever, whether you like him or not, I think what most people "not in" the industry don't understand-----and certainly what they don't see-----is that he's a team player, he contributes, he works hard, helps others who he works with, and so on. He's liked and well respected by his "peers"---who like him are actually "in" the industry, contribute, do this for a living.

In charge of having people lined up in the right spot for winners circle pictures. Don't think it's a 6-figure position. Him giving picks is no worse than the computer's spitting out formatted picks, which most sites use. Who follow them anyways

He obviously likes his job but, in my opinion, does too much fraternizing with the drivers leaving the winner's circle.

I'm pretty sure he could do a better job than ken warkentin. Ken has given out a favorite as his "price play" every night for months

Back in the old days track announcers never mentioned the odds, now they're obsessed with it. As the horses are moving up, Warkentin mentions the odds of 3 or 4 horses, of course after the race starts in most cases the odds have changed dramatically, so he'd be better off not giving the odds at all.

Gary is a good guy. I have met him & we talked several times. He has a job at the Meadowlands & loves the sport. I'm not sure why he's a constant topic.
