The NW4Pm at Miami Valley is $19,500 vs. $9000 at Harrington and most other tracks. Why is Miami Valley so rich in purses? The horses show inflated lifetime earnings as well when being sold.

Combine a short meet with Casino welfare and voila
-
Kentucky Downs runs, I believe, a seven day meet. Maidens go for $170,000. The shorter the meet, the bigger the purses, at welfare tracks.

At Rosecroft the NW4PM goes for $7500.

No onsite casino revenue. Kentucky Downs perfect comparison ( though electronic racing slots not real ones). If Miami Valley had an even shorter meet, purses would be even higher

To be honest, I think Miami Valley offers a good betting product. The Sunday afternoon cards are great.

I'm sure they do. For some reason my ADW ( drf bets) doesnt take their wagers and I am reluctant to open up other adws

They race for purse checks!
When the gate opens, people leave/settle in and wait until the 2nd turn before any actions take place again.
nobody parks anyone out.
if you're racing from the back of the pack, you better hope for some 'cheap speed' to help your cause.

Might be great purses but a snooze fest between races. No handicapping whatsoever. Post parade, Calls race, race results thats it.

That's pretty common at most tracks unfortunately. But if you look at the prices this past Sunday, the prices were really good. Now this could be an anomaly, as I have only been playing for the past few weeks, Sunday only.

This is a 5/8 mile track so it's more noticeable compared to a 1/2 mile track.
I'm not sure of this, but no passing lane also.
Can someone please confirm this?

Not the last time I was there (no passing lane).....unless they added one since then.
I always had high hopes for MV since VLT's were approved. The JV between CD and Delaware North Companies were supposed to buy Lebanon Raceway (the Nixon and Carlo families wanted to sell), and the JV of course wanted to transfer the license and racing to a new facility. I am guessing this was about 12 years ago or so.

$39k open trot coming up. Tops in the business. Even Yonkers, I believe. tmbz1

Selling a horse racing there by touting the INFLATED money won is something the buyer must realize as CLASS of the horse is what counts.
