Why do you want interest rates to drop? Interest rates are at a reasonable level. There’s plenty of people that need the interest earned in their savings accounts, money market accounts, and CDs that need a reasonable interest rate to pay for all the increases coming for food, supplies, perishables, etc.

I think he wants to lower the Fed fund rate in which businesses borrowed from the big banks. I see your point and I tend to agree when it comes to savings. CD's T-bills and money markets. It all depends on what the 10 year treasury does but I agree Powell has got to go the same goes for Janet Yellen.

Let me update you. Interest should have been raised by Trump and that left Biden holding the bag with inflation. If Trump allowed them to go up gradually we never would have had the inflation we had. As it was it was the lowest in the western world and we had close to the best economy in the owrld under Biden. Now...not so much. I have not commented on this thread, but here ya go something objective. I voted for Trump but that doesn't make me a member of a cult. Some of the tariffs I agree with, and some not so much. Is he a person with high morals? No. Will he do a better job than Harris would have? Yes. It is simply to soon to tell what affects his policies will have on the country. A couple bad weeks of the stock market does not prove anything one way or another. The man has been in office 3 months of 48. Nobody has any patience anymore. Sometimes as with many things in life, you need to have short term pain for long term gain. Nobody likes the market going down, but honestly 99% of people are in it for the long haul. It will bounce back, when that will happen is just a guessing game. All of these countries need us more then we need them. I know that sounds arrogant, but it's a fact. Let's see where we are as a country a year or 2 from now and then we can pass some judgment one way or the other. I did not like Biden, but I supported him because he was my President If he did well the country did well. Some people on here would rather the country go down the tubes just so they can say they were right about Trump. That is not right. It's unlikely Trump filed personal chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy 6 times because there is up to an 8-year waiting period between filings.
Perhaps he filed business chapter 11 bankruptcies which don't have the same rules as personal bankruptcy, furthermore He would have never in his life passed the personal bankruptcy means test for income and would have lost all his real estate holdings over 179,000 dollars.
Most corporations have a board with 9 to 12 members, very few companies are owned by one individual verses a corporate board. Trump was probably a board member in the actions you speak of. Kindly list the 6 company names involved in the bankruptcies you speak of, they can be looked up since bankruptcy records are available publicly.

Like I stated a corporation has a board of directors that makes all decisions about the corporation by vote, majority vote wins.
In this context Trump could only hold one position on the board and thus one vote. He couldn't have done anything with his one vote, it would have taken a majority of the votes of that board of directors for that corporation to declare chapter 11 bankruptcy.

A close friend of mine lives in a condominium building in NY with the name Trump on it. However, since it is a condo each apartment resident owns their apartment, Trump owns nothing nor has any stake in that building.
