Post by: LUCPARK on April 04, 2025, 05:47:12 PM
IS THERE A REASON ON GODS GREEN EARTH  I SAW AN 8700 TRAINING BILL FOR 1 HORSE,

ONE OF MY GUYS SHOWED  ME HIS BILL FROM AN EAST COAST TRAINER ..

THATS WAS 8700 FOR ONE MONTH PLUS SHIPPING TO TRACK AND PADDOCKS,,

MINUS 2.5 PERCENT OF ANY MONEY MADE BY HORSE AS A TIP  FOR HIS GOOMS AT END OF MONTH

So I’ll wager on Per or Tony. Nancy would be 10.

That's why I bought in on a MN bred.  Bills are much more reasonable out there.

why do those east coast trainers charge that much... because they can
its not even the $70 or $80 per day base rate that kills
its all the add ons
special supplements , aqua tred , chiropractor, sports psychologist etc

Funny how the more money an owner wins, the higher the bill gets.   tmbz1

Every top five trainer, maybe even top ten, throws everything at them. On the surface it looks like the place to own horses but if you poll most owners you find that most get crushed over time.

It's a tough business to make money.  You have to love the sport and treat it as a hobby.   I run it like a business.  If they don't make money they go.   It's like a hobby you enjoy it but fully understand you'll more than likely lose money.
