So much for getting a 3 year owners license in California back in January.  Hopefully an alternate venue can be secured.

Harness Racing generated $25k in revenue for the state last year. Open a deli and make more.

Do they run any other tracks, either thoroughbreds or standardbreds?

No harness racing left in California and the state just kicked the Tbreds out of Alameda County.

In the grand scheme of things it was probably inevitable but if you notice, the tracks that have closed or are in the process of closing all had very short meets such as Scarborough, Freehold, Pompano and now Cal Ex.

Add Northville. As for dates. The one thing they all had in common was no enormous state welfare purse infusions. See the handles at M1 and Yonkers last night? Embarrassing. When the free money ends, so does the racing.

It sure will. I'm surprised PETA doesn't go full throttle to shut down racing. I am sure they have the funding to do it but they seem to not be fully committed to do so.

The T breds are run by millionaires and billionaires, I think they can hold off Peta, but it will be a battle

If PETA started posting pictures and videos of racehorse abuse such as National commercials during Super Bowl and The Oscars, where millions of eyeballs could see what is happening, horse racing would be decimated. Millions actually don't know what is really happening to many of these poor horses.
