Drivers not on the gate
« on: April 24, 2018, 07:21:04 AM »
They should hand out more fines often. We see to many sloppy starts. You got the barn burners plastered to the gate and then you got the guys that have no intention leaving gapping 1/2 -1 or more lengths.

Chris Page is the worst one on our circuit. God for bid if he has 10 hole he is 47 lengths behind flying to chase the gate.

nobody is expected to pay their monthly mortages bettin on horses

its suppose to be fun and good time to get fresh air and waste a few bucks on entertainment

Luc maiden,nw1 type horses ok i get it. But im talking every race everybody should be on the gate... 1-9 or 99-1. Only way your going to get Page to the gate if you had a clown chasing him on the track  73cv.2 73cv.2

Agree why have this rule if it's never enforced. Balmoral was notorious for this. Have 10 horses in the field and your lucky 5 had a nose on the gate. They lag off and drive toward the rail if they weren't leaving. If it's a rule then obey it. If they don't care or don't enforce it why is it still a rule. Just like the giving a hole rule. Sport is so fucked up in many of ways and it's why there is NO betting interest anymore. Love betting the flats and that's where 95% of my dollar goes.

starters fault. should make them come up into position or fine them. its like all the other rules of harness that the judges fail to enforce. they are there for a reason

If you’re taking back why does it matter if you’re a half length off the gate. Better than ripping there face off.

It is also interesting the number of times that the 7, 8 or 9 Hole on a 5/8 track is the horse being school for something and held off the gate several lengths.
