DINOSAURS AT FREEHOLD RACEWAY.

Freehold raceway--location is perfect-track OK-but has been run into the ground the last 20 years by unbelievable poor management.

The dinosaurs responsible for this debacle are pigs at the trough.

How can officials who obviously have not done their job efficiently-maintain their position??

Once you have a job at the NJ racing commission is it like US Senators-you die on the job?

No one gets a vote or say in this??  Needs to be a major shakeup IMHO. Too little too late-but if you dont start cleaning house it will rot all the way to the floor.

I live only a few miles from the place and have only gone there 2 times in the last 10 years
no crowd
bad over priced food
no upgrades in 30 years
a true dump

i'm curious what this great profit margin is, 100 a year?
the place is a far cry from the days of campbell and herve and top horses when I regularly went there , and back then it was a far drive.

What do you want the racing commission to do?  Oldest race track in America...racing there since 1840...their ownership of otb in toms river is quite profitable, track itself is not, but they need to run dates so they can keep that otb.

It is a bare bones operation that is run by Penn National and Greenwood.  They're holding on to freehold in case NJ racetracks are granted casino licenses.  Then you'll see some action.
