THEY USED TO PUT BLANKETS ON 'EM AT DUQUOIN BETWEEN TRIPS

then they look all lathered and the fans think it looks sick.  it's taken a long time; BUT ! doesn't it just make sense to race world-class horses at optimum conditions, instead of wearing them out on a 95 degree day?  So, yeah *  two heats is one too many -

You have to keep them warm between heats

If you cool a horse out too much they will tie up
Water scrap then throw a blanket on
Some water ok

Would be fair though if the tracks gave the trainers some electrolytes though like pedialyte or something
