Watch Jim Devaux just quit driving in the stretch, the 3 horse,  Prove It Allnight.
A fine example of why people stopped betting harness races.

If they drive them hard in the stretch, then people say the driver is being abusive. If the driver eases up in the stretch because he knows the tank is empty, then they say they are stiffing the horse. Seems the bottom line is to many that a drive is  good if you cash, bad if you lost.
