My buddy back home said Hawthorne had an emergency meeting that they had to stall on going renovations with the casino buildout. IL has been a cluster fuck for decades with harness racing. If anything happens with Balmoral they will need a lot of help first and foremost Cook Co giving them the ok. When that gets lifted then one can start the hoping process.

I heard through the grapevine that the guy who got turned down to build the new track and casino was still involved trying to get the new track built.

He's got investors and financing lined up but the operating casinos are using their connections to block him.

Balmoral is viewed as a possibility to buy and renovate reducing construction costs.

But they still haven't got the green light from the state.

The source is on the IHHA board and is not optimistic that it will ever get built.

They have been lied to too many times.

Churchill to start going through bids as they come in during the second quarter which has started. They also have a 87mln expansion plan for Rivers casino that starts in 2022. They also are part of a group looking to get that Waukegan gaming license for a casino. Harness better be on the ball 12 months comes rather quick and a thoroughbred track like Hawthrone isn't going to let them leave the state for a harness summer meet. When Arlington having been sold.
