John Campbell was asked what the one intangible was separating the hall of fame drivers from the others. His answer: fear. The best drivers were the ones who drove bad horses well. Walter Case Jr. was the best at driving bad horses to victory or new lifetime marks. Better than anyone else. Conversely, Wally Hennessey never, ever wanted anything to do with any horse, who had any sort of idiosyncrasy. Could he drive good and great horses as well as anyone? Yes. But average or below average horses? No.Thus, he is so overrated imo...
I've known Dave Palone personally a long time...long before he was married and partied all night and everyone has their opinions of him but what he has accomplished is great nonetheless...tha t being said if and its a big if Case doesn't fuck his life up he's the lifetime leader in wins by a larger margin that what Dave is right now.
Wally could and can drive circles around Case and Campbell
