No doubt it was tax free.  They don't tax gambling winnings. They didn't years ago. I am sure it hasn't changed

Mega Millions:                        302,000,000 to 1
Correct Order 12 Horse Field:  479,000,000 to 1
Perfect NCAA Bracket:         
                      9,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1

At almost 500 million to 1, picking the correct order of a 12 horse field reminds me more of the 2002 Breeder’s Cup betting scandal than anything else.

A verified perfect NCAA bracket - NEVER!

Not 100% sure but I think the article I saw said that was the amount prior to the tarif.

The guy won with a free bet voucher for the promotion. The astonishing thing is that there were 400 million possible combinations! If he's a regular player,it would be safe to say that his average wager will increase!
