Joe had a number of nice horses....he came down from Buffalo and lived a couple of miles from Liberty Bell. He drove Sunder's good horses Steady Franklin and Sunderchief.  He had a nice free legged pacer named 'Timetar', and a number of other decent horses.  Joe was a good trainer with a good program...old school, rub, tub, poultice and he was also pretty sharp at putting them on their toes.
He had really poor eyesight, wore coke bottle glasses...all his race bikes continually needed to have the forks on the left side touched up.  When it rained he was virtually blind.  He was a real character.
