If you came up to me and said grade me as a person i would go off the character that you have shown me by your actions in life as a grading system on a restaurant would be the food and the service and the restaurants appearance and when your brain puts it all together and if parts are very wrong there is a lost customer and that customer will relay what he has found wrong with the product to others and the product dies if run poorly......... for me gambling being my way of earning money i need to figure out angles and facts and equate that with the horses odds and then bet my horse as gambling is not about picking winners but getting proper value on your bet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Today everything is backwards as an overlay is almost always stiffing and huge underlays for no reason seem to be in the right spot and how can that attract new blood and simply put the reason this happens is the game has people that do not rock the boat and people that outright could not care less about the tomorrow,s the game has as that is the way they approach life,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The horsemen that watch horse racing today and do not rock the boat when watching drugged up 1-2 shots win and single file racing that puts everyone to sleep are a big problem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,When i read that this game needs to promote better it cracks me up as how do you promote something run so poorly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I dont want a free hate but i do want 3+3 to equal 9,,,,

I grew up with the smaller tracks too like Brandywine Raceway which used to be a 1/2 mile before converting to a 5/8 and Liberty Bell. I also spent many nights at Dover Downs. As for Simon Allard, he really doesn't get that many drives at Pocono and does most of his driving at Chester. I've also went to Harrington Raceway and Georgetown in lower Delaware many times, both are 1/2-mile tracks. Georgetown closed a long time ago, but back then all the races had $500 purses regardless of the class and drivers would whip their horses just to keep a hole closed.

I was also young when there were better tracks, good drivers, less drugs, full grandstands. Tracks like Roosevelt Raceway packed to the gills. I even remember YR and Monti packed and the old M1 grandstand used to get so packed you couldn't even find a seat on any floor.

Now its full of drug trainers, super crooked drivers and empty grandstands with tiny pools, unbettable.

Moe do you not find the announcers tidbits to be helpful at times like qualifiers that i cant see,,,,,,,,and unlike the HOOSIER announcer  saying that on paper it looks like a good qualifier with a good time,,,,,,

I like listening to their thoughts, then pick their info I find worth.

The corruption at Monticello in the early to mid 80s was insane! There were stand-up numbers every night of the week.

I find it hard to "grade" tracks because there are few common standards. For example, the Red Mile scores high with me and is also one of my favorites, but it's mostly because I am there, on-track, live, during the GC meet, and I enjoy it. When I am not, I watch whenever they are racing. But for me, it's a short, speciality, GC meet. The Meadowlands on the other hand races a long meet, but only a couple of days a week for the most part, while Woodbine/Mohawk is virtually year round and goes 4 days a week (some 5) for the most part (or a decent part). So for me it's kind of tough to grade them. Each track has its own idiosyncrasies or uniqueness or whatever you want to call it. For me, it used to be about---full and competitive fields, big pools to bet into, and a low takeout, and yes, the rebate, LOL.

That said, I'll take a shot. I am only including tracks that I watch (occasionally) have gone to, or go to occasionally (including the GC), etc. I am including everything, every aspect about the track, including going there, live, product, purses, field size, pools, experience, etc.:

Mohawk an A MINUS shocks me as 6 out  of the top PLAYERS do not play MOHAWK and MR GRAND AS i respect you i have to say that rating shocks me as its pure underlays and very little movement and even a few years back i read that NASCAR was trying to make the cars go slower so it would not be a boring race and every race at Mohawk is boring,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Years ago with DOUG BROWN WHO was leading driver and a speed maniac and guys like trevor ritchie,,,,STEVE condren ,,,,,,,,,William gale and many others they raced and Barry hewson the race secretary would never allow racing like we have today and Barry listened to some top gamblers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tHOSE FOUR GUYS I MENTIONED WERE NOT GREAT FRIENDS AND THAT HELPED,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mohawk is not even a D TO ME,,,,,,,,,,,the best player in my opinion ever in harness racing and the biggest winner does not play and calls it unbeatable,,,,,,,,,

I hate Hoosier - hate to watch races there and hate to have horses race there.  Cover flow down the backside never happens, everyone gaps, 60-1 shots routinely loop 2-5 leaving with no retakes, announcers voice is annoying and the long stretch makes is very local biased - very difficult to take a horse there off of any other track.

Mohawk, Meadowlands, Red Mile and Scioto are my preferred.

Hoosier probably has the longest stretch of any track, yet they still have a passing lane which is ridiculous.
