What do the top trainers take home per year? For themselves.  After they pay for all necessary operation expenses?
1) Burke
2) Takter
3) Cullipher
4) Bonogiorno
5)  Ake
6) Erv Miller

Yes.  lol.  I know people are going to say they get 5% of the purses won but how much of the daily fee is profit plus any other incidentals.  For instance if a trainers horses win 6 million.  The trainer makes 5% or 300k plus daily fee.. what percentage of the 100.00 a day is profit? So if a trainer has 100 head.  Let’s say 25.00 is profit. That’s 2500 A day times 365 so that’s 912k plus 300k so that’s 1.2 million they file on their taxes???

No way...a stable that size would have a bunch of employees and other expenses.  They can write of all trucks, trailers, equipment, etc.  I know several, and they can get it where they owe almost nothing.   tmbz1

I can speak for only 2… without doubt Erv and Jeff are at the barn and train. Of course they cant be at multiple places at the same time and that’s what Zoom meetings are for with the assistances.

FYI, I believe Erv actually sits behind his horses and trains them!

Burke has a picture taken of himself in colors sitting behind one.  Does this count as training?

Big stables train multiple together...would be impossible to sit behind all of them enough to know their quirks and such.

Go to Gaitway, the Meadows, his training center, If he's in town he's on the track.

Best time of year watch the young horses racing for great money. Nothing better than following the horses, going to wherever their next stake is, with family.

And why is Ryder not on the list? Has anyone had a bettor go of it for the past decade?
