Cal Expo reports that last year, thoroughbred racing at the state fair accounted for $650,000. Revenue from harness racing last year was $22,000. I think that says it all. Sincerely, Silent One
The reason alot of them are so keen on racing continuing there is because they actually 'LIVE' there.Classic harness racing trivia tidbit.
Free rides. Same as people still stabled on the grounds wherever that still exists and not having to pay actual stall rent. It's called squatting on a whole other level.
Well it is California where squatting or living in a tent under a bridge or on the streets is commonplace.
In real numbers. Cal Expo last year contributed to the state the equivalent of a full time job that pays $10.57 an hour. Representing the entire harness racing "industry" in the state. Absolutely fucking hilarious. #defundharnessracing
