I got a serious question from the practical side of ownership without getting into who stole what.

What is there to gain in stealing ownership of horses who are cheap lame plow horses that never earn any money?

I don't get it?

I haven't had to pay a training bill in almost 15 years and I know basic ownership costs have skyrocketed.

So how can any of these people survive themselves much less take on the expenses of caring and racing cheap horses?

Without an independent owner blindly footing the bill the small purse checks won't cover expenses.
