These guys were told by a horseman but didn't know why.

Figures they would drop a day with the fairs coming up.

So I get home and felt stupid I didn't know that Hawthorne's 2018 dates allowed Thursdays to drop in August. angbk

So I checked and it turns out my memory was just fine. tmbz1

Hawthorne was originally scheduled to race Thursdays the entire meet. 91zxa.1

So I take back my other post. angbk

In the July 26th meeting the IRB approved vacating Aug. 9, 16, 23, 30.

Here's the proof: tmbz1

Brown Co fair is this weekend at Mt Sterling where they have wagering. Then the Spr fair followed by Duq. Robin wrote a whole three trot races out of 37 for this week. Also the whole summer meet has been short fields and for the most part short prices with low handle. Probably the reasons for a shorter race season next summer as Thursday night's will be vacated.
