Looking at the IHHA web site as of 9 race days at Hawthorne Total purses have been 616000 recapture has been 320000 and the IHHA Take has been 115600.What bullshit where does the IHHA money go to and all that recapture bullshit and these fuckers can't give the horseman anything for the 6 weeks that we will be off. 13000 a race card can someone from the IHHA tell me where this money goes

It gets old when i say it But the fact that illinois racing is such a joke is still to me unbelievable i mean it seems like yesterday we had super nites the real super nites not the joke balmoral ones or the even worse nite of champions  but the real ones at sportsman's park!!!!!! The american national everything best summer nite racing around!!! When they turned sportsman's from 5/8ths to 7/8ths that was something i thought was wrong but after 25 years and seeing what they did to that place and everything else here and now Hawthorne is the last ship remaining i mean they just like balmoral and maywood were always the after thought but now its just hawthorne only thing i liked about hawthorne harness were the double headers and they day racing on new years day that led into the rose bowl!!!!!

Before the Johnstons had to sell the tracks or foreclose them they were receiving about 5mln for recapture. Purse money gone. IHHA around the same time was taking out over 2mln a year. A office space in Hinsdale, a couple secretaries, Tony S salary, a few worthless lobbyist, the lunch bill each month for a meeting, and insurance for horsemen. I'm sure there is more. But 5 or 6 years ago there was 7mln at least sucked out of the purse account.
