http://ustrottingnews.com/meadows-racetrack-and-casino-names-jeff-zidek-announcer/Jeff Zidek, Track Announcer at the Meadows.
Has a great resume within the racing industry and a known commodity within the Meadows family you could say.
With all due respect, he is not that good as an announcer.
He calls the horses and is accurate, but there is no enthusiasm whatsoever in his calls. I’m not saying he has to be a R. Huston, but I would think you should have someone that shows more life in his calls than that. Long shots up the passing lane on the outside or a horse that battled back after losing the lead is warranted a little giddy up in his call.
He appears to be a great analyst pre-race and I enjoyed him when he was part of a team, but the lead announcer?
Don’t know the man and I will guess that is a great guy.
Jeff, if you are reading this by chance, you have your biggest call coming up this Saturday. Don’t butcher it. Best of luck.
Am I missing something with his race calls?
Does anyone else out there notice this?
Very dry and bland call. Enthusiasm, tone, etc
I feel like I am watching qualifiers.
Yes, smartass ploppers out there,
“If you don’t like it, bet another track or turn the volume off”
“The Meadows is a garbage track, etc..
“Why don’t you try and call races if you don’t like it”
I am looking for some honest feedback.
