On making one of the worst decisions most people have witnessed .Biden would be proud.
With a hurricane with multiple tornadoes in it- bearing down- with biblical downpours predicted--they decide to conduct racing=whereas previously with much less dire predicitions--they cancelled-some when even the sun was shining.
Of course after 3 races-they had to cancel for fear of being either blown/sliding off the track or causing a major accident.
Many horsemen-then had to go home-many being stuck-some with horses--for many hours on flooded roads--some stuck for 6 hours at a standstill.
Good news however--all the grooms/staff/track workers were paid-and the track veterinarian went home with pockets full of lasix money-which cost him maybe 200$-but he collected $1000's-while those horses never raced-with no refunds for about the umteenth time this year..
