It's a sad story and also infuriating.

Cody Dorman died during the flight from LA to Atlanta.

The Dorman family was flying commercial ... LA to Atlanta to Lexington. Commercial.

Cody was severely handicapped and while the family made its decision to fly out and back, you have to wonder why Godolphin OR The Breeders Cup OR NBC didn't step up and fly him and his family privately with a nurse on board.

You know the Sheikhs, Mott, Alvarado were on a private plane going east from LA.

NBC and Breeders Cup used Cody and his family as, essentially, props for the whole summer.  Yet they didn't see fit to foot the bill for a private flight back for the family.

Who knows... when it's your time, you check out.  But maybe he'd have stood a better chance if some filthy rich people stepped up.

I bought a horse and named it My Beautiful Face, a real loser, down the stretch all the women at the track who backed him are screaming come on My Beautiful Face.

Got to say this about CODY, the individual. Did not understand at first what this all about. Saw him I think at DERBY undercard stakes race and obviously undercard Bredders Cup. Thought the family owned the pony CODY'S WISH. Did not know that it was a relationship from a few years ago that was put togeather from the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION. The story line in itself seems a bit suspicious. A 5 month old weanling comes up and rests his head on wheelchair bound CODY. Do they have pictures of that. LASSIE the dog might but a pony!. Now they draggin the teenager to CALI. Got him at some dinner 2 nights before and he supposidly communicatin on some tabli apparatus. NO FUCKIN WAY. And CALHOUN RIGHT. In his condition there should have been a private nurse with CODY every step of way. I'm not sure who more responsible for his passing as supposidly he outlived his projected lifespan. Is it the PARENTS neglect or the SHOTS runnin the cup who doted on him and actually appeared could care less. And when one is takin their fingers and tryin to cram down throat is that a message he can't breath or he chokin. And again that a common thin with what he had or more a plea for HELP. And CALHOON RIGHT. STEWARDS and Stewardess on commercial aircraft have basics for helpin passengers in distress. They certainly are not qualified in whatever situation took place. Why did the FAMILY not drive if they were so hell bound to attend. Did the plane make a emergency landing. RIP CODY. Life can sure be strange.

Seems like almost every year the Thoroughbred press come up with a human interest story that goes nationwide and spreads through all jondras of the media. Why can't these Harness Racing Writers find an angle that will "hook" the mainstream public? I believe that there are many of these stories yearly in this game. Have a story that makes the local news is not a home run,it is merely a "ticker"!
