MANAGEMENT AT TRACKS
« on: August 19, 2024, 01:22:22 PM »
When is racetrack management going to realize that it is not us the public who is privileged to bet this high rake product but they are privileged to have a super easy job and they are privileged to have us,,,,,,,Just look at casino as they treat the costumer who pays a much lower rake at a casino with utter respect and serves them top of the line food and comps them for playing and greets people as they walk in,,,,,,,, A black jack dearer will wish you good luck as you sit down but when has a cashier or management showed you appreciation,,,,,,, NEVER and es that is my final answer,,,,,,

Agreed. Casinos as much as they are built to take your money, they got it right. I've long said the people who own and manage tracks do not understand the horse racing industry. I will exclude Stronach and Gural from that blanket comment, however, we all know if tracks do not have alternative revenue sources, eventually they will be insolvent. I think the future will have fewer tracks, that look like Gulfstream and the Meadowlands, and they will have other forms of "gambling" on-site. There will be "entertainment" and "hospitality" and that will add to the alternative revenue sources.....and of they don't do it soon, they will be too late.

When i see the hiring of puppets by racetrack management like the 2 old senile guys at hoosier or the boring guy that puts you to sleep at northfield  that handicaps or the always a puppet crew at WEG,, IT shocks me to never see a person who deserve a job operate tracks,,,,,,,,,,    NOW THE BIG M had SAM mckee and KEN WARKINGTON TWO GUYS that were super pros and did their job with pride and were not puppets and yes i know that western fair it is a boring track with very little movement but the hire of a guy who makes a mockery of the game makes me think is anyone watching management as no one could hire this guy and yet Weg uses him on occasion,,,,,,,    All management has to do is watch a race at most tracks and the pre game shows to know how bad the product is and seriously why is no one betting at HOOSIER,,,,,,,,  jUST WATCH THE SHOW and fall to sleep and what happened to EMILY was she good so they canned her,,,,,,,,,  bY FAR THE BEST WOMAN WORKING THE HARNESS GAME,,,,,

They have entertainment at the Big M.  Didn’t you get to see the drag queen show?  Or the flaming fag on Hambo day??

The Meadowlands got better the day Sam Mckee walked in. He was a pro who loved the game.
Dadoyan rose to the top & the place suffered. Gural told Alex 11.dt & customer service improved. Alex took his sorry act to Yonkers & destroyed their handle.
Chris M. was a yes man too. At least he acted professional.
All the PA tracks suck. The Meadows might try a little. Anthony is hated...but he cared when he was at Pocono.

People still do not understand the reality. There is CASINO management who only do the minimum to hold racing because the are forced to. Managing racing into the ground meets that requirement and help the goal of getting rid of racing.

Something i will never forget was many years i was in a OTB that was a bar and this early 20 something and 3 good looking girls and he walked over to the betting side and pulled out a stack of hundreds and then said i made 8 grand at casino rama and today is my day and then he asked the cashier if you could win any money gambling and she told him awhile back someone won 30k investing 24 dollars but you had to bet  tri and super to get that and he bet around 500 the next two races and lost and then she told him to follow the pros who happened to be Jeff brat and he put out a 36 dollar pick 4 and gave his 4 selection for the race and this kid bet a 5 dollar pick 4 plus boxed the tri and super and man was he rooting with his clan and it came in all four chalk in order and he was giving the high fives to his crew and then went to cash and the look on his face after loosing a bunch was priceless and someone told him at least you are cashing but i am ripping and he said out loud and drunk ,,,,,,No wonder everyone here looks so old and depressed and would you need management at a track to know that single file racing produces chalk and can bring in nobody new to this game as it just looks crooked when they are single file and if this kid made big he might come back ,,,,,,,
