Watching in person something wasn't right with Nijinsky.. furthermore it was a horrible drive by roy.. he tried to leave and came away 3rd which is the worst spot on that track.. you are first over or Boxed in. That horse isn't a leaver. Also I think it was Roy's first drive in Delaware, definitely for the week.. maybe ever. It is a different animal than most half mile tracks. The banking is really steep, which is of course why is so fast.. Macdonald drove poorly in the elimination and should have gone 3 wide much earlier.. he practically ran over Miller's horse.. but in the final he was driven as good as a horse coming out of 6 hole could be.. golden 2nd over trip Legendary just didn't have it today. It wouldn't surprise me if Nijinsky scopes sick or a bleed with the way he backed up

Good question. Neither horse looked great but I will say seeing Legendary Hanover up close he is an impressive looking animal.. but that doesn't win you races.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
