Looks like NYRA has the right idea, and needs to do more...and Gural perhaps as well, based upon talk around the Meadowlands and some of the recent talk on the upcoming "meeting"...and more tracks are starting to look for some solutions...the biggest players in the country have been screaming for years...start with LOWER TAKEOUTS! LOL. Reduce the rebates for the CAW players, and shut them out of all pools with X-minutes to post.

Lower the takeout (and potentially raise the host fee)----long-term----yes, you lower the rebate for the CAW players, but stand your ground, don't be afraid to let them walk. They have limited places to play. Some say that the tracks can lose on-track handle, short term, but I question that. Yes, that can be subject to debate, but even if true, one step backward leads to two steps forward. Tracks are not flush with on-track handle anyway, LOL.

This to me shows how poorly harness racing is doing as any gambler that bets serious money should be extremely unhappy with the state of the game and i know for a fact that in the T.B game nothing is more talked about than this subject but i do not believe that many grasp the problems in this sport and yes many are dying or going broke but people were always dying and going broke but today the dead are not being replaced but the handle is not dropping and money is coming in from advantage groups now i believe that this game can not survive and the T.B WILL SURVIVE AS that game with some work will attract new players once the work is dont and advantage groups are eliminated,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The T.B GAME IS a game that is much more creative with different distances and different surfaces with a group of JOCKEYS that have much more pride in their game and harness racing has all races run at a mile with the same surface as off tracks do not exist these days and also payoffs that bore the shit out of people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The breds will make changes and harness will not as it is so boring now and not to see it is insane,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, At the runners the last quarter of a race is by far the slowest as they race hard and at harness tracks horses come home in 26 seconds and at tracks like HOOSIER WITH A DOUBLE PASSING LANE AND A GATE THAT IS NOT STAGGERED WHY PULL as you have a fresh horse every week as they never race and MOHAWK it can not be explained how racing ever got this way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,GURAL GOT INFO THAT THE BIG PLAYERS WERE UNHAPPY WITH SINGLE FILE racing and tried to do something about it and the drivers and trainers are to stupid to understand and these people should have ZERO Say when it comes to the game,,,,,,,,,,,,,, When i see GURALS name show up i then see the real morons post and that is why people are not playing and here is the truth that casinos like Great canadian CASINO that own racetracks can not wait till these places are shut down as they do nothing to promote the sport,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, For you people that believe this this game will survive i ask how as these betting groups will disapear as no new people are betting and they bet 40 percent on top of the money bet and that money will be zero and 40 percent of zero is not a healthy number,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, This is a wasted post by me as almost no one understands this article by GRANDSTAND hANDICAPPER,,,,,,,,,,

Tracks are making no money and as the handle drops states will see a smaller handle and then realize the game is dead and get rid of slots and i believe in ONTARIO THEY WILL close down racing in the next ten years and that is harness racing only as i do not know one gambler here in Ontario that is happy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,They need to go a 8  percent chop and get rid of adw places and they would make much more than they do now and i do not believe they can go 10 percent to compete with other forms of gaming,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Purses today do not come from handle as tracks harness tracks in KENTUCKy do not do a handle and have huge purses so its time to go way way lower on rake,,,,,,

People talk about jobs and look at the amount of cashiers that lost their jobs and the people selling racing forms and programs and what about the food stands or dining rooms that are closed and less security but the real important jobs like race track management that never make a good decision they are still working if you can call it that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Vegas does not hire someone who never gambles to make decisions on gaming,,,,,,,,,Poker does not hire people who do not gamble to make decisions but here in ONTARIO we hire nitwits and the casino at WOODBINE takes a 20 dollar rake in a 1-2 no limit holdem game and these same people run FLAMBORO DOWNS and georgian downs AND I AM NOT SURE ABOUT grand river,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
